The next version I am working on will add some of the highway names, show a few of the rivers and lakes, and also show a few of the city streets. The going is slow because I am having difficulty translating from the Simplified Chinese map I am working from to the equivalent Pinyin spellings. --DV 11:35, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Please note that Dadong District (大东区 Dàdōng Qū) and Tiexi District (铁西区 Tǐexī Qū) are spelled incorrectly on this map. (I recently found a Simplified Chinese->Pinyin translator that is correcting some of my spellings.) I will upload a corrected version soon. --DV 11:39, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Image is in opaque format, where is transparent form?

There doesn't seem to be a transparent form of this image available, as required by the GFDL.

This image was created using vector graphics software, so the transparent form has to be in a vector graphics format (the basic concept of transparent form is that you must be able to change the image in the same way as the original author, and be able to do so using software that is free). Even though the Adobe Illustrator file may be considered opaque because it is in a proprietory format, I feel it would be more transparent than the current version, although, given web browser limitations, an opaque form needs to be used for web display purposes.

Even if it had been created using painting type software, as it is line art, JPEG forms an opaque form because it degrades the original.
