[edit] User page?

Why is the "Awards Center" hosted on a user page? It's received a lot of attention now and should be moved to something on Wikipedia space. I can move it myself but wanted to give you a chance first since I'm an outsider. Thanks. --Eustress (talk) 15:05, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

This topic has been debated at length in a few places, including here. Basically, a userpage gives us the freedom offer challenges that would be highly contentious in the projectspace. The existence of this page would be threatened (more so than it has been in the past). I ask that you not move it to the projectspace and keep it where it is. --SharkfaceT/C 23:04, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Interesting. Well, far be it for me to hinder a good thing (per WP:IGNORE). However, I do suggest putting some kind of header at the top of this page briefly explaining the situation and perhaps referencing the previous discussion. Best --Eustress (talk) 23:26, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
A header of some sort explaining the situation is a pretty good idea, actually. I will look into it. Thanks for the input. --SharkfaceT/C 17:07, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
The following are a couple sample headers you may choose to use. I'll let you make the call, and feel free to modify them. Perhaps this could replace the current information header, which could be moved to the bottom of the page. Best --Eustress (talk) 21:21, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

I will use the second one. Sometime in the near future, an AWC contributor will write an essay as to specifically why it's on a userpage. Thanks for all the help, Eustress. --SharkfaceT/C 19:26, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Who removed the header and why? --Eustress (talk) 16:36, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Limetolime

I want you to know that this awards page is causing at least one editor, Limetolime (talk ยท contribs), to go hog wild all over Wikipedia. Among other things, he has been posting wildly unprepared articles to FAC, passing questionable articles to GA status (causing an outcry from an editor who is working on the article), and making disruptive edits to Chocolate trying to get it to FA status, finally somehow getting it passed at GA even though half the sources have been proven bollocks. Now he's giving himself barnstars. My next step is going to be to file a user conduct RFC, but I would like the coordinators of this page to be aware of some of the behavior it spawns. --Laser brain (talk) 04:37, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

  • I urge you guys to have a good talk to this user. I've tried (as have others; see diffs) and failed. We don't want to go to RfC, so please take the initiative. giggy (:O) 09:21, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
    • I have tried as well, and no luck. -- iMatthew T.C. 10:29, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
