[edit] Adoption, and RFA

Firstly, I need to be here a lot longer before I submit an RFA, thanks for the compliment though. Secondly, I'm happy to graduate you from adoption, and keep just a small link of talk pages open if you need a discussion about edits, you seem capible, but are maing a few mistakes in the editing (you still havn't got a signature that displays your name - there is a user called Wikimaster), if you feel up to graduating, let me know and I'll go through the steps RT | Talk 21:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Consider your self Graduated from the adoption programme, the signature is now fine.
I havn't been active on Wikipedia for 1 and a half years, it's only in the last 3 months I've started editing a lot
Feel free to frequent my talk page, and have a great time RT | Talk 22:21, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Remember Us?

An editor has nominated Remember Us?, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Remember Us? and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 14:03, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Adoption of SlubGlub

Yes, adopt me, please.SlubGlub (talk) 18:45, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

So, now that you've kindly adopted me, what happens next? Should I just start asking you questions? If so, where should I put them? Right here? SlubGlub (talk) 22:07, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes, here would be fine. Shapiros10WuzHere 23:07, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

OK, first question: I've put a bunch of {{fact}} tags in an article. I have not seen any concrete guidelines on how long one typically waits before removing the tagged material as unverified. Is it pretty much up to me? Or is there a guideline somewhere? I have no idea if I should wait a week, a month, or whatever.
It is the applier of said tag must use appropriate discretion on how long to keep it-in simpler terms, it's up to you. Shapiros10WuzHere 21:41, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

What about the removal of sections from an article? In the Internet Radio article, there are a bunch of subheadings under Business Model that really belong under History and might not warrant their own subheadings. But I don't want to break any links that might go directly to the anchors for that section, right?

Technically, it's just moving sections. You'll just need to go to "what links here, which could be Example#Example#Example, you'd need to change it to Example#Slime#Example. I hope you understand. Shapiros10WuzHere 12:18, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
I understand how to use What Links Here to find what links to the page, but not what links to a specific anchor/section of the page. Let's say I was going to remove the section called "2002 copyright royalty enforcement changes in the United States" and just fold that information directly into History. (I'm not sure this is what should be done, but just as an example...) So I want to find all the pages that link to wiki/Internet_radio#2002_copyright_royalty_enforcement_changes_in_the_United_States. How do I get What Links Here or any other feature to tell me where the links to that particular anchor/section are? If I pull up the URL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Whatlinkshere/Internet_radio#History, it doesn't tell me what links to History--it assumes #History is an anchor in the Whatlinkshere page itself and ignores it. (At least, that's what I imagine is happening.)
Well then, you're going to have to do it manually, although I doubt many articles would link to that specific section. Shapiros10WuzHere 20:17, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Might you care to weigh in on the discussion here? I've been trying to slowly-but-surely clean up the article and would appreciate input on how to proceed given the disagreement there. SlubGlub (talk) 17:08, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Sorry :) I'm not much of an expert on that topic, and I have to organize a taskforce or two. Cheers! Shapiros10WuzHere 22:00, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Well you would need to provide a fair use rationale for this picture. However, I think claiming fair use would be denied in this case. It's not that difficult to upload free pictures (self-taken or from Flickr, for example) of baseball pictures, so fair use images of ballplayers aren't really used. Re your message: It's great that you got the task force up and running. I'll be around here and there with it. =) I did remove the userbox you added to my user page though. It's not that I don't want to help, I just prefer not to have the userbox on my page. I've got a rather minimalist user page as you can see. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 01:12, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Re your message: Not at all. =) Actually, it's rather nice to finally have somebody do something constructive to my user page instead of the the vandalism that I usually get. It's no big deal. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 16:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
