[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:B000AXWV6S_03_AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:B000AXWV6S_03_AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Yes, but that alone doesn't make the song notable. The article doesn't even mention whether or not it was a single or not or if it charted anywhere. -- Scorpion 02:46, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Sure. The page wasn't deleted, it was simply merged. You can easily undo it. -- Scorpion 05:23, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Basically, I felt that everything that was really needed to know from the songs page was already mentioned on Hefty Fine, so there was no need to add stuff. What I did was more of a redirect than a merge. -- Scorpion 05:26, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Adam Lazzara photo

Hey, just so you know before the fair-use Nazis attack it, an image found on Google is normally not going to be a free-image. And I noticed you also have the author as yourself, to be the author you had to have taken the photo with your own camera, you also need to add the proper copyright tags on it. Darthgriz98 19:30, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Well the problem with that is that lying about the copyright is illegal. So you should probably either try to find the author or have it deleted, although if a tag isn't placed appropriately it will be deleted anyways. I suggest finding the author and the right copyright tag or finding a free image. If you need any help let me know I'll try my best to help you. Darthgriz98 00:20, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, images from Google can be used under certain circumstances, but images from Photobucket are only free if you took them yourself since Photobucket is just an image host, it's like a filing cabinet. If you use Google first you have to make sure the image is not copyrighted or if it is then make sure the author has released all rights to it. Sometimes a copyrighted image can be used with a fair use rational like the image on the Adam Lazzara page had before. It was taken from a music video and had numerous reasons to why it could be used. You might want to take a look at it to see what it is. Also check out WP:Images. Darthgriz98 00:29, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately no it would still be the same picture of Adam Lazzara, you would have to make a completely different image of him like the Silver Award userbox picture on my userpage, and that's not exactly possible. Darthgriz98 04:01, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:4dpo3l0.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:4dpo3l0.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:52, 2 April 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 17:52, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image licenses

Hi, I noticed that several images you uploaded are tagged as being available under the GNU Free Documentation License when they clearly aren't. All the Bloodhound Gang covers, for example, should be tagged {{albumcover}} instead. When uploading images, please also add a detailed source (a link, for example) so others can verify the license. I doubt that Image:Taking Back Sunday 11111111.jpg is really available under the GNU Free Documentation License, and if you had included a link to the source, it might be easier to verify the image's copyright status. I'm not going to put them all up for deletion (yet), but please have a look at the images you have uploaded this far and correct the license tags and add proper sources and copyright information.

Let me know if you have any questions about license tags or image sources. I'd be happy to help you. --Fritz S. (Talk) 18:07, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

No, most images you find on the internet are still copyrighted and have not been released under the GNU Free Documentation License. Some can however be used on Wikipedia under fair use (a list of fair use tags can be found here), but there are some criteria for that. One is that we still prefer images under a free license over fair use images, so if there is a free license image available, that one should be used. Another one is that fair use images that could be replaced by free images, should also be deleted to encourage the creation of a free image (people think that it is more likely that someone creates a free image for an article if there isn't already an image there). Additionally, fair use images need a rationale explaining why they are needed on their image description page (this is explained here).
There are some more general hints on images you might want to check out here. --Fritz S. (Talk) 09:38, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I tried to reset the block of 152.157.146.254 as a soft-block, even though it already should have been one. Please set a new unblock request if you are still blocked.

It is strange that you claim to be blocked, while that IP's block is set as "anon-only". I am looking into it. —dgiestc 20:51, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
I suspect collateral damage, or "caught in the cross-fire", but will not interfere apart from this comment.--Anthony.bradbury 23:43, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
I can't find any evidence you personally are blocked. Is it showing you a block message when you are logged in? —dgiestc 02:11, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm on a school computer, and it's not letting me edit anything, it's saying the IP is blocked for constant vandalism. ShandraShazam 15:27, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edits made regarding Forrest Kline

I reverted a few edits you made regarding Mr. Kline as they were unencyclopedic. The use of nick-names is problematic, particularly when no references are available from the mainstream media. Please don't make any further changes to his listed name until a credible source mentions he goes by Kline-y. Wes!Tc 04:04, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Nice face, Brendon (2).JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Nice face, Brendon (2).JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aksibot 17:41, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Nice_grill,_Lazzara.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Fritz S. (Talk) 10:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
