[edit] Vandal
Thanks for the quick revert of the pleasant vandalism on my editor review page. Funny how people take speedy deletion of their articles so personally... Regards, BencherliteTalk 08:07, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- I had my eye on that guy from earlier. Happy to help though! --ShakataGaNai (talk) 08:08, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

- Done. Not too fussed about policy in the circumstances, but speediable as advertising. BencherliteTalk 08:11, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

- I saw that. I'll remember just to mark it as AFD next time. Awesome! Thanks!! --ShakataGaNai (talk) 08:13, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

- Actually, on further reflection, what I should have done was just replace the user page with a block notice - indef blocked users don't get to keep a regular user page, so I needn't have worried about a rationale for deletion and you needn't look for AFD/CSD reasons in such circumstances. - You are correct. I've found that to be the SOP. User indefinitely blocked templates also happens to help --ShakataGaNai (talk) 22:27, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia
So trivia written by other people gets to stay, and my trivia is deleted? How is that fair, exactly? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.216.47.11 (talk) 08:45, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- To answer the question you probably wanted to ask was: "Why did you (ShakataGaNai (talk)) remove all my trivia?" And to that I have the answer. Per WP:TRIVIA, it is discouraged the creation of trivia sections. I also removed trivia/notes sections on other pages in the same area of your edits. So I apologize if you felt targeted - it was just easier to follow your contribs. --ShakataGaNai (talk) 22:25, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Minneapolis archive
Hello. Thank you for your edit to Talk:Minneapolis, Minnesota/Archive 1, but from what little I know we don't need a new merge proposal in an old archive at this time. Best wishes. -Susanlesch 22:46, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not creating merge proposals. In fact I was "removing" them, without removing the history per say. Those merge tags were already there, I simple removed one {} from each side so they would no longer place the talk page into the Category for merges - jan 2007 - which I was working on going through and cleaning up. --ShakataGaNai 22:48, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Userpage vandalism
Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page - the IP editor seems to be a bit annoyed that I'm just the latest admin to remove linkspam from Llandudno and protect it against such abuses! Regards, BencherliteTalk 15:30, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- LOL - IP vandals seem to think that they'll win. Ha! But I'm happy to help. --ShakataGaNai (talk) 22:04, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your VandalProof Application
Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, ShakataGaNai. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. βcommand 14:35, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Links
In reference to the Soudan Mine link. The Soudan Mine is a paid member of the Lake Vermilion Chamber Of Commerce with information, photos, hours, contact information etc about the Soudan Mine. The Soudan mine pays the Lake Vermilion Chamber Of Commerce to create such links to inform those interested in visitng the park including Wikopedia. Please explain your authority and reasoning behind erasing information that is specifically relevant to the subject matter and threatening messages. [edit] Merging PRIDE event pages
It doesn't appear that I have the consensus to merge those pages. I would recommend removing the merge proposal tags and leaving those pages alone now, I can also do it myself later. hateless 08:59, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] adkins photos of Sengaku-ji
Adkins site of photos of sengaku-ji is one of the best on the web. How could you not find relevence of having links to it on the Bushido page? Sengaku-ji is a part of the 47 ronin story, THE national story of Japan and one of the ultimate examples of Bushido in Japanese history. It is a disservice to wikipedia readers to remove these important links. The second link demonstrates the reverence of the people three hundred years later to the ako-gishi and their adherence to the Bushido ideal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.6.204.111 (talk) 12:50, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Mostly because link #1 was directed at the picture section (which is all I saw the first time around) and link #2 was for a picture essay also (Which served no usefulness to the article what so ever). Additionally there are articles specifically for sengaku-ji and the Forty-seven Ronin. --ShakataGaNai (talk) 16:57, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Picture number two is VERY important because it shows the reverence of the people to the Ako-gishi and the Bushido Ideal. Articles are still written and thousands of people make pilgrimige to the site each year. On the 300th anniversary, more than 100,000 people appeared at the site. I think this is worthy of mention. I was the person who orginally brought attention to the adkins site by links and it is probably the best and most complete photo set of Sengaku-ji online. If anything, Sengaku-ji and the loyal 47 are a symbol of fidelity and adherence to Bushido —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.6.204.111 (talk) 09:10, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lake Tahoe:
Oh lol, I'm not a fan of Tessie - I was working on List of cryptids and the Tessie monster isn't notable to have its own article, so I redirected the link on the list to the Lake Tahoe article and made a small notation there as you're supposed to do... I don't care either way, but I thought it odd redirecting to an article which doesn't even have a brief mention on the subject. JSYK. :) Spawn Man (talk) 08:11, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough, I was a bit confused as to why a decent editor would "vandalize" but putting mentions of Tessie on the Lake Tahoe Page. I'll look around to see if there is a place for the mention. Thanks for explaining. --ShakataGaNai Talk 08:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

-
- Ah, ya see, now this is why you contribute to Wikipedia, You learn something new every day! I just happen to have lived in the Lake Tahoe basin for a half dozen years, so I keep a close eye on the article. Personally I think that Tahoe Tessie was more of a joke than anything else, but there are those who swear by it. I'll see if I can dig up some real info on it later and post it again with Ref's. --ShakataGaNai Talk 08:34, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
-
-
- I searched around and couldn't find anything useful. I asked a guy and he said the best thing to do would be to redirect the link to Lake Tahoe and write a small piece there. But maybe if you could find some books at your local library (They'll probably have it as town history right?) maybe we could make an article out of it? Cheers, Spawn Man (talk) 08:49, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
-
-
- You did the correct thing by redirecting it, I also checked on the Tahoe discussion and there was a single question about this. I will see if I can find enough info on the net to at least warrant its own heading under Misc. I doubt Tessie would ever be worth its own article - Unlike its famous breathern, Nessie, I think Tessie is just a joke (And out of hand one at that). But what ever I find, I'll let you know. Thanks for your input. --ShakataGaNai Talk 08:56, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Oh lord
[1] These vandals are getting creative aren't they? :) — Save_Us_229 09:38, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, they did try. Try mightily. But in the end I beat them. It would have been nice if an admin had banned em a little faster - but oh well - what can ya do? Good thing 3R doesn't count for vandalism, otherwise I'd get the hammer too. --ShakataGaNai Talk 17:56, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] My own personal opinion
I find your username to be senselessly "wapanese", and advise you to return to the website where you got your image macro (the cat with the bad grammar). Followed by not warning people for leaving comments on your personal TALK page, for which the only real violation of the rules was in not leaving four tildes. Pish-posh and tweedle-twaddle! 70.74.198.219 (talk) 05:39, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- Regardless of where it is, vandalism is vandalism. You're previous "attempts" to communicate were construed as vandalism. But I do appreciate your message. --ShakataGaNai Talk 05:40, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Leave something for me!!!
I'm getting very used to seeing "unable to roll back" due to "Gurch". Leave something for the rest of us!!! Just kidding, keep up the good work. I guess wiki is safe for now, I can take a break ^_^ --ShakataGaNai Talk 06:31, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- If I'm patrolling at this time of day there will be a good chance you won't be able to revert anything; editing is slow enough that I can review every edit. Rest assured that I cannot contribute 24 hours a day, however, and there is thus plenty of opportunity to revert stuff during more busy periods. Though you may well end up losing out to DerHexer, KnowledgeOfSelf or perhaps just ClueBot instead – Gurch 06:37, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism
Thanks for cleaning up after all the vandalism stemming from the Monte Vista High School Page. It's pretty ridiculous. Tiger Khan (talk) 18:14, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- LOL, no problem. Once in a time long forgotten I went to MVHS. In addition I found that the little kids (high schoolers) love to deface the page of their own high school, and of rivals. And while it wouldn't stop the problem, I really wish anonymous edits didn't have the "undo" feature. Makes it wayyyy to easy for them. --ShakataGaNai Talk 20:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] User:62.239.159.5

[edit] UBX Eve

- Would you like me to repatriate this userbox to you? Scepia has been gone for over 6 months, might be best for the userbox to be with someone who is a little more active. xenocidic (talk) 15:55, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Done. Moved {{User:Scepia/EVE}} → {{User:ShakataGaNai/ubx EVE}} and updated approximately 75 transclusions on userpages. Cheers, xenocidic (talk) 14:03, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Heads up re RCC
Just as a heads up, Brandt is trawling the photos on commons for names of participants; you may want to blur the name tags before you upload any more — iridescent 22:44, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- I dont know who "Brandt" is, (who is he?) but the way you mention is, I assume its a bad thing. I've had a talk with Cary Bass about not identifying people on commons - but in the case of RCC - I can't do much. With the number of pictures I'm uploading - I'm not bothering with any editing what so ever. I think everyone at RCC realizes that there name tags are readable on commons. Regardless, if I can sneak it in - I'll notify people that if they really don't want to be ID'd - they need to work with the pictures on commons (not that they can futz up the old versions). Thanks for the notice - always glad people are giving me a heads up. --ShakataGaNai Talk 23:04, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- I can't really explain Daniel Brandt as linking to anything about him will come under WP:BADSITES — easiest thing to do is Google the name. Basically runs an "editor outing site" which (among other things) tries to post photos of names & addresses of editors & admins here. — iridescent 23:10, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
-
-
- Ok. I've got some info from #commons about the topic. I'll announce things here shortly and see what people think. We may end up deleting all the pictures from the category & restarting. Thanks for the heads up. Keep me apprised if anything changes. --ShakataGaNai Talk 23:14, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

-
- Also. I've been informed that there really isn't anyone here that "he" would be interested in. Most of the people aren't wikipedians, let alone en.wp admins. Either that or its nothing new. So I'm not going to worry about it. But again, I appreciate the heads up, and keep me up to date. --ShakataGaNai Talk 23:57, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
