[edit] BUTLINS
Could the person who wishes to hide Ward's appearances at Butlins stop deleting this section everytime it is posted. Are you Shayne Ward's PR team or something? If it's a fact it's allowed on Wiki, so LEAVE IT ON. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.155.238.154 (talk) 15:39, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Last correct revision
Have edited for sense and clarification of various issues, plus references to the controversy surrounding Ward's father. Hope this is acceptable to mods. Duckorange 21:03, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi, I believe the revision of this article that should have been reverted to is the one at 18:51, on 25 December 2005 (this one), only with the song titles in the right format, etc. Sweetie Petie 21:24, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Removed opinions
I removed the opinions of 213.106.112.57 from this page due to their nature. I don't believe this is against policy, but they can still be seen here if they should be restored. - Hayter 19:11, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
why do u post a link to them? just leave them , people are entitled to their opinions especially becuase its a discussion page! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr. mister (talk • contribs)
- Because as it says at the top of the page: This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Shayne Ward article. This is not a forum for general discussion about the article's subject. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 00:38, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New single
I think his new single might make it 3/10 in the singles next week, Gnarls Barkley and U2/Mjblige taking 1/2.
[edit] Swap Shop
Re: this piece of info which has been added: A young Shane can be seen in saturday swap shop alongside Noel Edmunds, as revealed earlier this year in a Sunday Times Interview (The Sunday Times 21st March 2006).
Apart from the fact that the contributor has a) spelt both Shayne and Noel's names incorrectly, b) got the title of the programme wrong, and c) cited an interview which supposedly appeared in an issue of The Sunday Times published on a Tuesday, Multi-Coloured Swap Shop ceased broadcasting in 1982, two years before Shayne was even born, so I'd be surprised if he did in fact appear on it........ how can shayne ward have had #1 singles in South Africa when South Africa does not have a singles chart?????.. each radio station as its own Airplay chart.
so he is down in your stats as having a #1 with 2 different singles because he topped a radio stations airplay chart !!!!
[edit] #1 in south Africa ?
How can 2 of shaynes singles have gone to #1 in South Africa, when it Does not have a singles chart ?..each radio station as its own Airplay chart.
so shayne is down in your stats as having 2 x #1's there.... because a radio statio had him at #1 on there airplay chart !
- Calm down. I have removed South Africa as it is unsourced. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 16:38, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] PR material
This whole article reads like it's a PR job by his management company. No mention of his father's rape conviction? Very odd in an article that's supposed to be encyclopedic. It was a big deal in the papers at the time of the finals, so it's very odd it's not mentioned here. Possibly because this article is being edited by people who don't want anything negative about Shayne or his family to appear? Call me cynical ... 86.136.27.255 21:14, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
- It was mentioned before but was removed in December 2006 due to being unsourced controversial material. Nobody bothered to find a source for it so it was never restored, and was forgotten about. I've found a reliable source for it now and will re-add it to the article. anemone
|projectors 22:34, 10 November 2007 (UTC)- Did anyone look for a source? [1]--Vintagekits 13:11, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- I added it with sources on 10 November. It was removed by User:Appleberry32 a few days later with no edit summary. I shall put it back. anemone

[edit] Shayne Ward
Can you please explain your revert of my edit, if not please self revert. Thank you and regards.--Vintagekits 23:17, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- There was nothing in the article to suggest that he belongs in that category. anemone
|projectors 23:31, 7 November 2007 (UTC)- [2], hope this helps. regards.--Vintagekits 23:57, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- So add it to the article with the source and then you can add the category back. anemone
|projectors 00:22, 8 November 2007 (UTC)- Hmmm, I'm not sure about a source like that. There's no mention of their supposed traveller descent on our articles on Rita Hayworth, Charlie Chaplin or Bob Hoskins, let alone Bill Clinton. You've got to love their "It is even claimed..." there; that never inspires confidence in a source. Furthermore, even if we decide to accept this doubtful source we would have to additionally agree that the inclusion of the category is relevant to the overall story we are telling in the article. I, frankly, don't think it is. --John (talk) 16:30, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's pretty much my take on it - the reference is very wooly and I'd like to see something better presented before we re-add that cat (and at best shouldn't he be "of stock" since he's not actually an Irish traveller anyway?) --Fredrick day (talk) 18:06, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry to bring this up again, but I was reviewing this again recently. It seems I was partly wrong above; there is mention in the articles on Charlie Chaplin and Bob Hoskins of their Romani people ancestry, although not on Rita Hayworth or Bill Clinton. However, the information is integrated into the text with a reference, rather than being as a category. I suggest this might be the best way to proceed here as well. I would still like to see a better reference, and to agree here that the information is important enough to include at all. These ethnically based categories are a nightmare. --John (talk) 02:50, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
