[edit] Biography assessment rating comment

The article may be improved by following the WikiProject Biography 11 easy steps to producing at least a B article. This page should Cite sourcesthroughout article. Withsome citations, and infobox could probably progress to B class. -- SriMesh | talk 05:37, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The future looks bright for this young Olympian

An anon added this section, it's unsourced speculation that seems entirely inappropriate. I removed it. Grandmasterka 05:31, 21 March 2006 (UTC) Shaun White started Carson OWNS 16 May 2006 (UTC) -Shaunluvr

[edit] timeline issues

the article says "White first started snowboarding at age six in 1986" but it also claims he was born in 1986. what is the deal?--Geedubber 23:49, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Snowboarding Career cleanup

This section contradicts itself several times. One example is that White's mother put him on a snowboard to slow him down when he was apparently taking snowboard lessons from his father already. It also doesn't clearly state anything, a lot of the language is non-specific (he turned pro at skateboarding, but it didn't say at what age for example, and it seems to say that he turned pro at skateboarding at age 6 if you read it wrong).

Also nothing is cited.

also, it states - Shaun went pro in 2003 at the age of 17, and won his first pro contest in 2002 at the Panasonic Open in Louisville, KY (the 1st stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour). - how can he win a pro comp in 2002 yet turn pro in 2003? which is it, 2002, 2003? or is this normal and i'm clueless? if normal, maybe this should be stated for those not in the know, like myself... or is it just plain wrong? 194.221.133.226 (talk) 16:18, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] On MySpace?

I recently saw his HP notebook commercial. He briefly stated that he had a MySpace.. does he really have one, or was it just for show?

He probably has one but would rather not have it released to the whole world. Also in a issue (i think august) of Snowboarder mag he was talking about how it was impossible to spell his name or something on ms. I actually found a myspace page thats very believable because some people who know him personally are friended on it (and their pages arent impersonated) but it doesnt have to be put out for the public. [edit] 900?

Has he never landed a 900 in skateboarding? I mean why would he try to do a 1080 and even almost land it if he can't even do that.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Shaun white 2006 halfpipe 1st run.jpg

Image:Shaun white 2006 halfpipe 1st run.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:36, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
