[edit] 36 Wooden Men

This is the same film as Shaolin Wooden Men and there was already a stub on it. Bangers 20:06, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

In the UK the standard name for this film is "Shaolin Chamber of Death", and in the US it appears to be "Shaolin Wooden Men". What is the original Hong Kong title? I think the article title should be one of these and all alternative titles should be re-directs. Gram 09:44, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
I guess this is just one example of the incomplete info on JC films flying around the net. It would be good if as many of his films as possible had decent articles, which clarify naming issues etc. According to IMDb, the (Romanised) Cantonese title is Shao Lin mu ren xiang - what does this translate to? Also noted the actual number of "wooden men" varies in different reviews - from 36 to 100 to 108. Gram 10:00, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
The literal Chinese title is 'Shaolin Wooden Men Alley', so 'Shaolin Wooden Men' is the most accurate title. Also, Hong Kong Legends have recently released a new remastered DVD under that title, so the 'standard' name for the film in the UK has changed. I strongly recommend changing this article to 'Shaolin Wooden Men', as I was never happy with Chamber of Death being the title, and from the evidence I've just presented you might understand. Also, Shao Lin mu ren xiang is NOT the Cantonese title, that is the Mandarin title, the Cantonese title is Siu2 lam4 muk6 yan4 hong6. The IMDB seem a little haphazard with what the language for the film should be, Chan's 80s films appear to have changed to Cantonese but the early ones remain Mandarin. Support - the move seems sensible to me, as the earlier UK release "Shaolin Chamber of Death" has presumably been discontinued (although still for sale in many outlets) in favour of the US title. If the move goes ahead, I suggest the image selected for the infobox be swapped too. Gram123 16:16, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Shaolin Wooden Men redirection

Hi, Seems like Shaolin Wooden Men redirects to this article. However, Shaolin Wooden Men is also the name of a psytrance act - see http://gracenote.com/music/search.html?q=shaolin+wooden+men&f=artist&f=disc&x=0&y=0 . I think the redirection should be changed into a disambiguation page and a stub created for the music group. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.145.237.73 (talk) 22:38, 5 January 2007 (UTC).
