[edit] Deletion?

I'm confused as to why it has been proposed that this article be deleted.

Shane Oakley is an artist who is already mentioned in various other articles on Wikipedia (such as Matt Brooker and Albion (comics)). I myself am an author who has worked with Shane and decided to create the page in order to fill in the gaps for people wishing to know more about him and his work.

People have created entries about myself and my writing partner (Leah Moore) a long time ago and there seems to have been no supposition that they were "non-notable, probable vanity" despite the fact that their content was remarkably similar to this article.
