The reason why ShahRukh makes people cry is that he is the only actor on the world who cries really in his films, for he sheds real tears [planetsrk] The reason why Shahrukh makes people cry is that he is the only perfectionist actor who penetrates deeply into the skin of the character and that he sheds real tears. Shah Rukh Khan nominated for Pan-Asian Award Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been nominated for best actor in inaugural pan-Asian Film Awards for his title role in Don.
Hong Kong's film festival hopes to boost its profile with an inaugural pan-Asian awards ceremony today that features nominees from Bollywood, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Iran.
Up for the top acting awards are SRK ("Don"), Gong Li ("Curse of the Golden Flower") and fellow Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi ("The Banquet"), Japan's Ken Watanabe ("Memories of Tomorrow"), veteran Hong Kong actor Andy Lau ("A Battle of Wits") and Taiwan's Chang Chen ("The Go Master").
South Korean pop star Rain was nominated for "I Am a Cyborg, But That's OK," about the relationship between two mentally ill patients.
The problem is that many of the big stars are skipping the event, including SRK.
Despite being a major movie production hub, Hong Kong's film festival has paled in comparison to the better funded Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea, which hosts more world premieres.
Hong Kong organisers hope a star-studded awards event that draws big names from across the region will redirect the world's focus to this bustling financial capital that has seen its once-powerhouse movie industry decline in productivity.
The 1st Asian Film Awards encompasses an unusually diverse mix of nominees that includes some of the biggest names in Asian cinema. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.217.221.59 (talk • contribs)
- Is it neccessary to copy-paste whatever you find of SRK? This is picked up from here, you could have just given us a link. We know that he's been nominated, we could add that in, the rest is irrelevant in this entire text-dump. xC | ☎ 12:01, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Madame Tussauds to honour SRK with biopic
The management of the popular wax museum Madame Tussauds, London, has now decided to make a 50-minute short film as a tribute to the life of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. The film has been named The Making of Another King Khan.
Madame Tussauds is a museum that commemorates the world’s most popular personalities by creating strikingly similar wax statues. Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan have already been immortalized in the museum. Shah Rukh is the next in queue. It is learned that the museum wanted to make a narrative on Shah Rukh’s life since a long time. They finally approached choreographer Bobby Khan for it. Bobby, who is directing the film, is now finalizing the list of people whom he plans to feature in the film. Some of the people who have been roped in to be a part of this 50-minute biopic include established names like Karan Johar, Juhi Chawla, and Aziz Mirza. Shah Rukh’s celebrity friends from the Indian film industry and some of the leading ladies will also be seen.
The film will chronicle the life of SRK right from his childhood days to his struggle as a newcomer in the industry to his super success. The premiere screening will be followed by the official unveiling of his wax statue at the museum. The film will also see a public release later this year. - Another text-dump, this time from here. The film is in production, yes? Un-encyclopedic to speculate, this is not a fan blog. Once its released, we'll happily put it in. xC | ☎ 12:02, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Shah Rukh Khan in and as 'Khan'
Karan Johar is all set to direct his best friend and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in his next film titled ‘Khan’.
Reports are that Johar has decided to move away from his usual track and make a film, which will not be yet another feel-good film like in the past.
is now all set to bounce back as a director after Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna with his next venture titled ‘Khan’ with none other than SRK in the title role.
Besides SRK, Khan will also have yet another big actor in a key role.
And the lead actress of ‘Khan’ could be Rani Mukherjee or Preity Zinta or Kareena Kapoor with whom Johar has had a patch up recently.
As of now, Johar is busy with his chat show Koffee With Karan on Star One and SRK is shooting for his production venture Om Shanti Om as well as Kaun Banega Crorepati for Star Plus. [apunkachoice] —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 196.217.221.59 (talk) 15:07, 20 March 2007 (UTC).

Speculation. Can't put this in unless its confirmed by a verifiable source ie. supported by proof. Until then its gossip. xC | ☎ 12:01, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Shah Rukh Khan plans to upgrade special effects in his production house
Bollywood leading man Shah Rukh Khan is taking a three-month break from filming to improve the special effects unit in his production company.
A report in the Mumbai Mirror newspaper Friday quoted Khan as saying he wants his studio's special effects to be comparable with the world's best.
"I want to work on a project that is very precious to me," he said in the report. "I want our production company to become truly FX-savvy. I want to spend the next three months honing up the FX in our production house."
The term "FX" is often used as shorthand for special effects.
Khan, 41, is India's biggest star and has acted in more than 50 movies. His blockbusters include "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham" ("Sometimes Happiness, Sometimes Sorrow"), "Kabhi Haan, Kabhi Na" ("Sometimes Yes, Sometimes No") and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna ("Never Say Goodbye").
He set up a production company called Dreamz Unlimited seven years ago, and has produced six films. He produced and starred in "Paheli," or "Riddle," a Hindi-language film which was India's entry for the Oscar in the foreign film category two years ago.
"This is where my heart is at the moment," the report quoted Khan as saying. "I want our FX to be comparable with the best in the world. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 196.217.217.94 (talk) 15:49, 23 March 2007 (UTC).

Red Chilles VFX should be added under SRKs name.
I can give some links.
Red Chillies set to spice up Indian VFX scene
A still from Red Chillies Entertainments' Paheli Superstar Shah Rukh Khan really meant it when he remarked,"I want to open my own VFX studio" in a recent interview to a business daily.
Located at Khar in Mumbai, Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. the entertainment company owned by King Khan recently kickstarted its VFX division 'Red Chillies-VFX'.
Shah Rukh who is currently shooting in Kuala Lampur for Farhan Akhtar's Don commented “VFX is the way of the future. I personally believe that with all the colour, charm, passion and the lyricism that already exists in hindi cinema, the way to enhance the romance of films is going to be through the addition of VFX in our technique of cinema. Technology can only better the process of story telling and narration. It is a tool which the largest film-making nation in the world cannot afford to ignore!"
"Also, it is necessary to develop our own system as somehow the understanding of VFX in an Indian way is important because it will help us retain our USP of films and not end up being a reflection of the western way of thinking when it comes to effects. VFX is the next big addition to our films and needs to be nurtured and developed if our films have to truly get international in the near future” added Khan.

You started a Special Effects (SFX) division in your production house Red Chillies. Elaborate. At Red Chillies we prefer to term it VFX (Visual Effects) and not SFX. What is missing in India in this field are experienced operators and visualizers. Over the past few years I had been keen to assimilate the right bouquet of creative people. I am happy with the VFX boutique we have and I think they should be successful.
The same team had created effects for Main Hoon Na and Paheli which were little low end. But now I am going to give every film such an offer and visually explain to them what we have to offer.
While theVFX cater to onlymovies starring Shah Rukh Khan or only those produced by him? Till date they have worked on my films only because I want to instill some confidence in the market. I want show that if I can take a chance with VFX in my films, then even others can go ahead and use it. The quality of my films is not generally bad.
But we started our first outside film with Don. We have signed two more films now which will not star me. Om Shanti Om, my next home production will use this VFX too. We are developing it and hopefully expanding it and taking more work of quality.
This is not just business for me, it a creative department. We will not just merely talk money. It will also be about the effects needed to be created. When we get more films and more business we will expand further.
