[edit] Since there're obviously disagreements

Try to keep up. True, Shadi's a ghost, but he had to be a reincarnation of someone; otherwise, his name would still be Shada (or Hassan). In episode 201 of the anime, Shadi reveals that he's been killed by Bakura. He never says which Bakura, but it's obviously the Millennium Ring-possessed Bakura, which can be determined two ways: 1. Shadi goes on to talk about how Yugi's friend Bakura is possessed by an evil soul; and 2. In episode 96 right before Dark Bakura duels Dark Malik/Marik, Dark Bakura thinks about how the person in Marik's memory is Shadi. He also says, "But 5 years ago, he'd be..." Now think. Dark Bakura doesn't have any memory of his life 3,000 years ago, as revealed in episode 200, so he would have to know Shadi from his current life. And while it's revealed in the manga that Dark Bakura couldn't talk to Bakura until much later on, they never said he hadn't possessed him before. They hint at him possessing him numorous times when they talk about Bakura's friends collapsing whenever Bakura plays with him and Dark Bakura having their souls in the dolls. It also never says how long Bakura has had the Millennium Ring, so it could have been as much as 5+ years ago-- enough time for him to kill Shadi. One last thing: If you're still thinking that Shadi was talking about Thief King Bakura when he said he was killed by Bakura, that's not true. It's revealed in both the anime and the manga that both Shada and Hassan (whichever one Shadi is a reincarnation of) were killed by Zorc, not Bakura.

[edit] Forgotten info

He was killed by Dark Bakura (Yami Bakura in the English version) at least 5 years before the main action of the series takes place, meaning that Shadi is a ghost whenever the characters encounter him.

However, the above is conflicted in Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters, as during the time of Alexander the Great, he is forced to undergo a trial to prove he deserves the power of the Millennium Item he has been using (the Millennium Ring, to be exact). The man who forces Alexander to undergo such a trial is Shadi as well, which would mean he was killed several millennia before the start of the manga/anime. Of course, Capsule Monsters is considered non-canonical as it is made by 4Kids

- Shadi states in the dub that he is a centuries old spirit. Just pointing it out.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Shadi.PNG

Image:Shadi.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
