Shalini Ganendra:

was awarded a prestigious Harkness Fellowship from Phillips Exeter Academy in 2007.

is the first Sri Lankan President of the Oxford & Cambridge Society of Malaysia. She has created a regional presence for the Society and intiated the Dialogue Series which encourages debate and dialogue between members/guests with dignitaries who speak on a subject of choice.

- her gallery is the first to show contemporary artists from Malaysia and Sri Lanka during New York's Asian Art week.

Perhaps the article can be reworded to be less of a gallery promotion and more of a focus on her.
