Shaun Taylor (born February 26, 1963 in Plymouth) is an English former professional footballer and is currently assistant manager at Forest Green Rovers in the Nationwide Conference.
Taylor, a hard tackling no nonsense defender, started his career at Bideford before moving to Exeter City in December 1986. He played 20 league games for Exeter before moving to Swindon Town in July 1991. Again he was a first team regular and went on to play over 200 games for Swindon before joining Bristol City in September 1996.
After retiring from playing, with over 500 Football League matches under his belt, he became head of youth football at Bristol City.
He joined Forest Green Rovers as assistant manager in June 2005 with former Bath City manager Gary Owers who joined as the boss at The Lawn Ground.
His younger brother Craig plays for Torquay United
