From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shaun Gladwell (b. 1972) is an Australian video artist.
His work has been exhibited in major national and international exhibitions, including Art Connexions an international exchange initiative of the Goethe Institut, and the Yokohama 2005 Triennale of Contemporary Art.
In August, 2007, an anonymous buyer at a Sotheby's auction in Melbourne paid AUS$84,000 for a digital installation work entitled Storm Sequence[1]. The video, which features five minutes of slow-motion footage of Gladwell skateboarding in Bondi, was regarded as the harbinger of a groundbreaking trend in contemporary art.
