Shashi Ruia is an Indian businessman and a billionaire^{[citation needed]}. In 2007, Shashi and his brother Ravi Ruia were ranked as the 86th richest billionaires in the World.

Shashi Ruia is the Chairman of Essar Group. He has made significant contributions to the core sector economy in general and the steel industry in particular.

He has been instrumental in leading the prompt foray in several new businesses such as steel, power, constructions, shipping and oil & gas.
