Sharpsville is a town in Liberty Township, Tipton County, Indiana, in the United States. It is part of the Kokomo, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2000 census, Sharpsville's population was 618.

Sharpsville is located at 40°22′44″N, 86°5′12″W (40.378949, -86.086632)[3]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.6 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 618 people, 232 households, and 179 families residing in the town. The population density was 2,795.4 people per square mile (1,084.6/km²). There were 243 housing units at an average density of 1,099.1/sq mi (426.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.54% White, 0.32% African American, 0.16% Asian, 0.32% Pacific Islander, 0.49% from other races, and 0.16% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.29% of the population.

There were 232 households out of which 40.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.9% were married couples living together, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families. 19.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.03.

In the town the population was spread out with 28.5% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 33.0% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.2 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $52,292, and the median income for a family was $58,750. Males had a median income of $46,389 versus $30,417 for females. The per capita income for the town was $22,480. About 1.2% of families and 2.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.4% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.

Tri-Central High School is the only high school in Sharpsville and is located just outside the town. Tri-Central is considered one of the Class A basketball powerhouses in the Hoosier state. Tri-Central is home of the 2003, 2004, and 2005 Class A Girls Basketball State Champions. In 2005, the Tri-Central boys basketball team was one of only 2 high schools in Indiana to have a perfect regular season (20-0). The following year in the 2006 Regional Championship, Tri-Central beat Lafayette Central Catholic in a monumental upset behind Grayson Flittner's 48 points. That 2006 Tri-Central team went on to become the 2006 State Runner-ups. Tri-Central High School is also the home of two Boys basketball players who led the State in scoring. Kory Fernung in 1987 (31.9ppg)[4] and Grayson Flittner in 2006 (29.3ppg)[5].

Also located outside of town is Heartland Christian Academy, (HCA), which is a part of Heartland Ministries. It is a private, Christian school serving Pre-school through 8th grades with about 40 students.Sadly, Heartland Christian Academy was forced to close their doors at the end of the 2008 year due to financial strains.[6]

In the mid 1970s, Sharpsville made national news. A handful of residents reported numerous experiences with Bigfoot in the area. Interviews and documentation proved that something extraordinary had been experienced by these individuals.

In 2007, the Tri-Central Girls Basketball team was host to a national Hamburger Helper commercial that has been seen all over the United States.
