Sharon Ní Bheoláin (surname pronounced /nʲiː vʲoʊlˠaːn/) is is a T.V. newsreader with Radio Telefís Éireann (R.T.É.) in the Republic of Ireland. Today, she is best known as co-anchor of RTÉ’s Six One News. This News program is broadcast on RTÉ One, one of the country's main national T.V. channels.

[edit] Early and private life
Sharon Ní Bheoláin is the Irish translation of the English name 'Sharon Boland'. Sharon prefers to use the Irish version of her name, and this is the name by which she almost exclusively known. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) with an honours B.A. degree in early and modern Irish. [1] For a brief period in the mid-1990s she was a teacher of Irish at Castleknock Community College, Castleknock, Dublin 15. [2]
Before joining RTÉ she worked for the Dublin radio station, 'Raidió na Life'. [1]
She is married to Kevin and has a daughter named Faye, who was born in late 2002. [3] [4] They live at Clontarf, north Dublin. [5]

She is currently the co-anchor on RTÉ's Six One News Bulletin. She began her career with RTÉ in 1994 presenting Nuacht RTÉ and in 1997 she became the presenter of News 2. [1] Throughout the early 2000s, she had sporadic appearances on various RTÉ News programs - including Six-One News, the Nine O'Clock program and on RTÉ Two's News programs. In 2006 she became co-presenter of RTÉ News: Six One in a permanent position.
She also presented the short-run RTÉ series Turas Teanga, which helped viewers learn the Irish language. It is now available in DVD and book form.
