Sharon Fountain is an English folk artist who has twice been awarded the Redcar Folk Festival Prize for best singer-songwriter. She was born in Barnsley in 1956 and still lives there as of July 2007. Fountain studied French and German at Aston University.

Sharon has produced three commercial recordings of her work.
- This Could Be was only produced on cassette tape and is now out of print.
- Razorblade Earring was only produced on cassette tape and is now out of print.
- Songs Almost Sung was produced on cassette and CD and is still available from the artist.
A fourth album (with the working title Port of Refuge) has been in progress since 2001, but has not been released as of July 2007.
