Sharan (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sharan (born Arnel Šarić, on February 14, 1986) is a TV personality from Bosnia and Herzegovina. His TV and radio appearances became well-known all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro.
Sharan was involved with a number of TV projects, including "D.D.P. Kaznena Ekspedicija" (English, "D.D.P. Penal Expedition") and "Zyon". Sharan started his career as an amateur stuntman, stating Chris Pontius from MTV's Jackass as his idol, and taping a promo material with a few friends that gave them a job on national TV (Federalna Televizija).
He is also employed at Radio 202, one of Sarajevo's most popular youth radio stations, as a moderator and metal DJ. He is the creator of Izvan Svake Kontrole, show that is dedicated to promoting metal and rock music genres in Bosnia-Herzegovina. His other shows on Radio 202 include Demo Top, that is co-hosted by him and Dženan Suljević. DemoTop is a radio show dedicated to promotion of young, unsigned and demo underground bands from all over Bosnia - Herzegovina.
He was also the host of the "Morning Program" on Radio 202 for a period of time, but was fired for abusive and erratic behavior, often late arrivals to work and unique style that didn't satisfy either critics or everyday listeners.
Along with his TV and radio appearances, his other public appearances include a couple of amateur theater shows and concerts with his punk-rock band Rapa Nui. Sharan is also involved with the following bands: Marginalac Margarin, A JE TO! and Motherpig, while he works on his HC hip-hop side project named Kroshe Poetski, whose biggest underground success was the song Demir, written in order to criticize a local political movement Dosta.
He is well known for despising and lately, hating both rich people and snobs based on their physical appearance and possessions, including cars, clothes, and hip locales. The best way he showed his hate was creating a song Kod Biche, big underground hip-hop success by his band Marginalac Margarin. One part of the lyrics is:
Skupa kolonjska na licu, na vratu zlatni lančić / Poznat sam u gradu kao krkan i seljačić / Kupio tata azzaro šulju i tole na peglu / Da budem u folu, pojeo sam kavijara teglu /
Imam najnoviji mobitel, znaš onaj xg325 / I nije važno što na računu imam samo maraka 5 / Sa mobitelom sam faca, iako mogu samo prozivat / I svaki put jarana za sms poruku moram pitat..
...which can be roughly translated as:
Expensive eau-de-toillete on my face, gold necklace on my neck / This city knows me as a country hick and a redneck / My daddy bought me an Azzaro shirt and a pair of nice pants / I want to be hip, so I ate a full jar of caviar /
I have the latest mobile phone, you know, the XG325 / and it doesn't matter that my credit is almost spent / with this mobile phone I am very cool / but every time I have to write an SMS I have to ask for my friend's phone...
He is a sworn-to-the-grave anti-political and anti-religious person, with controversial statements including often-public proclamations to the youth against voting for corrupted politicians or showing respect for any type of religious leaders. He considers himself to be an Anarchist, and a follower of anarchism.
