Shapes and Sizes are a Canadian indie rock band from Victoria, British Columbia. There are four members—Nathan Gage, Caila Thompson-Hannant, Rory Seydel and John Crellin. After self-releasing their self-titled debut album in early 2006 the band caught the attention of Sufjan Stevens' record label Asthmatic Kitty who later reissued the album in July 2006. They are the first (and only) Canadian band to be signed to Asthmatic Kitty.
In January 2007, the band released a split 7" with The Weird Weeds as part of Asthmatic Kitty's new split 7" series, "Unusual Animals". May 2007 brought the release of the band's second full-length album, entitled Split Lips, Winning Hips, A Shiner.
