Shanon Cook is a contributing reporter for various CNN networks primarily covering entertainment. She mainly profiles musicians and artists for CNN.com Live, the network’s online broadband service. She has also covered business news for CNN International, breaking world news for CNN’s weekend broadcasts, and has anchored live news on CNN.com. In 2004-05 Cook presented daily live reports about entertainment on CNN Headline News’ morning show Robin and Co., now known as Morning Express with Robin Meade. In 2002-04 Cook was a producer and reporter for the CNN International program The Music Room, a half-hour show highlighting popular bands and artists. In 2007 she hosted four specials for CNN.com Live about music and the arts. During her tenure at CNN Cook has interviewed personalities like Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, Owen Wilson, Andre 3000, Jennifer Lopez, Clive Davis, John Mayer, Kanye West, Ludacris and R.E.M.
Her writing has been published at CNN.com and in Billboard Magazine, and Cook has also appeared on CNN’s American Morning as a pop culture expert.
Cook started at CNN in 1999 as an associate producer for CNN.com and worked on the site’s award-winning coverage of the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
In February 2008 Cook became a correspondent for Full Frontal Fashion and covered New York Fashion Week Fall 2008, interviewing designers and celebrities like Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Donna Karan, Kimora Lee Simmons, Brooke Shields, Ellen Pompeo, Nicky Hilton, Susan Sarandon and Victoria Beckham.
Cook is also a regular host of Firebrand on ION Television, a show that features cutting-edge TV commercials. She has also appeared as a guest host on THE 9 on Yahoo!
Cook appears as reporter Cassandra Blair in the live-action video scenes of EA’s “Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars,” which was released in March 2007.
Cook was born in Melbourne, Australia and graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in journalism. She lives in New York with her husband, CBS News science and technology correspondent Daniel Sieberg.
