Shannon Lucas is a former drummer for Metalcore band All That Remains, and currently drums for The Black Dahlia Murder. Lucas started out at the age of 14 covering Slayer songs on guitar but later joined percussion classes in High school due to the ease of getting an "A".[2] Shannon Lucas is originally from Stanton, VA, where he played for a local death/grind act WarTorn. He later moved to Richmond and became a member of the Gwar side project Mensrea. After opening up for GWAR he met All That Remains with whom he kept close contact. Eventually the band kicked out their drummer and called Shannon Lucas; he moved to Massachusetts and joined All That Remains, replacing drummer Michael Bartlett. Lucas appeared in the video "The Air That I Breathe", and soon after, performed with All That Remains at Ozzfest 2006. He quit the band soon after that. He was replaced by Jason Costa.
On March 21, 2007, Shannon Lucas joined the metal group The Black Dahlia Murder, and played on their September 2007 release, Nocturnal.
He currently uses drum shells, Axis Pedals, and Sabian cymbals.
