Shangy's, based in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, United States, is one of the largest distributors of domestic and foreign import beers in the United States.[citation needed] Founded in 1980 by Javad Hadian, Shangy's sells over 3,000 domestic and foreign beers, more than any other U.S. beer distributor. Its 35,000-square-foot Pennsylvania store has become a hugely popular destination for beer enthusiasts throughout the U.S.[citation needed]
In August, 2006, Shangy's brought suit in Philadelphia federal court against InBev, the world's largest brewer of beer, for allegedly violating a 1998 agreement that Shangy's would be the exclusive distributor of Hoegaarden, a popular Belgian beer, in seventeen Pennsylvania counties. Later Nima Hadian became the co-owner of shangy's. [1]
