Shane O'Sullivan is a young Irish hurler who plays for both the Waterford Inter-county hurling team and the Ballygunner GAA club.
[edit] Playing career
Shane started playing inter-county hurling with Waterford at the age of 18. He made his debut against Tipperary in the Munster Hurling Semi Final on the 6th of June 2004 and has since gone on to represent his county 8 times.
Shane made his first championship start vs. Kilkenny on the 8th of Augest 2004.
In January 2005 Shane suffered a serious ligament injury forcing him off the Waterford panel however Shane made very quick recovery and lined out 6 months later for his club Ballygunner. Shane was then instrumental in guiding Ballygunner to Senior & Under 21 county titles in 2005, resulting in Ballygunner losing by a narrow margin to Newtownshandrum in the Munster Senior Club Hurling Championship 2005.
Shane has been a regular starter for Waterford in the 2006 All-Ireland Hurling Championship.
He was part of the Waterford side that defeated Kilkenny by two points in the National Hurling League final in April 2007.
Shane is brother to the former Waterford inter-county hurler, Billy O'Sullivan.
