[edit] Shady Shane

Shane appeared briefly in July 2006 (no character name was given at the time) and reappeared on September 12, 2006, having witnessed the accident in which Darla Forrester (Schae Harrison) was accidentally killed.

Taylor (Hunter Tylo), Hector (Lorenzo Lamas) and Stephanie (Susan Flannery) believed that Shane, who was previously a homeless man, returned to Los Angeles simply to blackmail Taylor, who was unintentionally responsible for Darla's death. However, when the truth came out, Shane testified in Taylor's favor. His testimony was interrupted by a recess. The next day when the court proceedings began again, Shane had disappeared. The reason: because he tried to force himself on Phoebe the night before and was stopped by Hector. Taylor was acquitted because of Thorn's testimony - Not because of Shane's.

Shane had begun a tentative relationship with Taylor's teenaged daughter, Phoebe (MacKenzie Mauzy). But more recently, Phoebe has become involved with Rick Forrester (Kyle Lowder), much to the chagrin of her father Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss).

Recently, Shane's new position as a salesman for a waste management corporation was in danger. He was living out of his car and desperately trying to recruit clients for his recycling business. In April 2007, Shane went to see Phoebe at her house and asked for a second chance with her, but was thrown out by Taylor's fiancée, Nick Marone (Jack Wagner).

Shane approached Phoebe at Insomnia Coffee House, then at Forrester Originals, and was asked to leave both times. He returned to Forrester Originals and confronted Ridge, who warned him to get out of the building. At that point Shane pulled out a gun. After taunting Ridge with the gun, Shane then threatened to shoot himself. Ridge tried to stop him, but in the ensuing struggle over the gun, Shane was shot and killed. In a panic, Ridge disposed of the body by dumping it into Santa Monica Bay.
