Shane John Jurgensen (born April 28, 1978 in Redcliff, Queensland) is an Australian cricket player, who plays for the Queensland Bulls, but has also played for the Western Warriors, Tasmanian Tigers, and Sussex County Cricket Club.
A talented fast bowler who rose to prominence on the Queensland club scene in the early 1990's, Shane Jurgensen failed to find a place in his home state's side due to the strength of their bowling attack. He moved to Western Australia, where he managed to make his first class debut. After a couple of seasons with the Warriors, he again moved, this time south to Tasmania, where he played some of his best cricket for the Tasmanian Tigers, including a hat-trick against the New South Wales Blues, and a record 11 wickets in the 2002-03 Pura Cup final against his home side, the Queensland Bulls.
Following his success with Tasmania, he returned to Queensland, finally fulfilling his dream of representing his home state. However, he failed to get regular call-ups for the Bulls, and missed all of the 2005-06 season, although still retained his state contract.
