Shane Jacobson is an Australian actor and writer. Jacobson is best known for his performance as the eponymous character in the film Kenny. In 2006 he won the Australian Film Institute's Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for that performance. He began his acting career performing in the Melbourne Gang Show.
Kenny is a 2006 Australian mockumentary film starring Shane Jacobson as Kenny, a Melbourne plumber who works for plumbing company Splashdown. The film is shot entirely on location in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Sydney and Nashville, Tennessee in the United States of America.
In Australia, there has been high acclaim for the film which continues to receive excellent reviews with an average of four to four-and-a-half stars. Due to this, the number of screens which show the movie has been increased and there is currently discussion relating to the possibility of releasing the movie overseas.
On April 5, 2008, he began his role of Nicely-Nicely Johnson in the major stage production Guys & Dolls, currently playing at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne.
He also does a bit of stand-up comedy and has appeared on education lighting videos.
