Shane Guthrie, (born 11 December 1984) is an Irish football player currently playing full-time with Cobh Ramblers F.C. having left Cork City FC at the end of the 2007 season. Guthrie is a central defender.

Guthrie was born on December 11, 1984 in Donegal, Ireland. He played youth football in County Kerry with St Brendans Park, Kingdom Boys and Tralee Dynamos.

Shane signed for the club in 2003 having previously played for Kingdom Boys and Tralee Dynamos in Kerry. Shane plays in central defence and made his senior team bow in the 2004 Munster Senior Cup.

[edit] Shamrock Rovers

Shane signed for Rovers on loan in July 2006 and made a scoring debut at Cobh Ramblers on Saturday July 15th[1]. Shane scored again against Kildare County before breaking his leg against Athlone Town thus ending his short Rovers career[2].

Two Eircom League of Ireland First Division Championships with Shamrock Rovers in 2006 and Cobh Ramblers in 2007, Kerry District League U21 representative side; U17 FAI National Cup runners-up medal; Capped by Ireland U19's VS Hungary (1st cap) last year & Toured with Irish IT's team to Cyprus, January, 2004.
