Shane Bettenhausen is currently the executive editor for the video game magazine EGM. He is also a regular guest on the podcasts 1UP Yours, EGM Live*, and The 1UP Show. Shane is frequently said to be a Sony fanboy, yet he denies all claims that may be directed against him. He is also frequently called out for his love of Final Fantasy VII, having defended the game's strengths against criticisms of Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy VII being diminishing returns of earlier Final Fantasy games, as well as the varying in-game models and nonsensical storyline moments (such as the snowboarding mini-game soon after the death of Aerith).
