Shambleau

Shambleau is the title of a short story by C. L. Moore, an American science fiction and fantasy writer. It is C. L. Moore's most famous story, and was reprinted numerous times. It was her first professional sale, and appeared in the November 1933 issue of Weird Tales. The story features Moore's hero, Northwest Smith, a gun-toting spacefarer, and is a retelling of the Medusa myth; it looks at themes of sexuality and addiction.
