[edit] Superintendent & Principals
The current superintendent of Shaler Area School District is Dr. Donald Lee. The High School Principal is Mr. William Suit, and the Assistant Principals are Ms. JoAnne Freed and Mr. Mike Brooks, the Intermediate School Principal is Mr. Dave McQuade, and the Vice Principal is Ms. Cynthia Foht. The Middle School Principal is Dr. Eric Stennett, and the Assistant Principal is Mr. Sean Aiken.

Shaler's Teams are all nicknamed "The Titans."
Shaler athletics compete in the WPIAL/PIAA AAAA/AAA divisions depending on sport.
Shaler has no defined rival, however games against neighbors North Hills and North Allegheny are fierce.
Shaler's 1980 Baseball team is considered to be one of the best baseball teams in the history of the WPIAL.

Good Ol Double "M" Mark Madden. Local talk show host with 1250 ESPN radio. His weight is always higher than his ratings.

- On March 9, 2006, the Shaler Area School District received local media attention due to a bomb threat made against the Intermediate School. [1]

In 2002, author Ben Mikaelsen visited Shaler Area Middle School. The 5th grade class presented him with a collage shaped like a whale.

The following shows have been put on in Shaler Area schools over the course of the past few years:

- Oklahoma! at the Intermediate School
- Peter Pan was the High School fall play
- 2007

- The Jungle Book at the Intermediate School
- A Lyrical Christmas Carol, based on the Charles Dickens' story, was the High School fall play.

- Godspell at the High School
Notes:
- The pit band for Grease was nominated for Best Student Orchestra in the Gene Kelly Awards, but did not win.
- The Intermediate School did not perform a show in 2008.

The Shaler Area Choirs at the high school and intermediate school levels have been competing for twenty-plus years in the Festivals of Music competitions under the direction of Mrs. Karen Frederick. The following choirs are offered at the various schools:
