Shaki, Nigeria

Shaki (also Saki) is a relatively big urban town situated in the northern part of Oyo State in western Nigeria. It is a very hilly town. It is referred to as the food basket of Oyo State because of its agricultural activities. It is the headquarters of Saki West local government authority. It is the formal location of a Baptist Church located at Oke-Adagba where the Baptist mission set up a nursery school in the early 30s. It is also a college town with many educational institutions including a teacher training college, nursing school and a satellite campus of the Polytechnic of Ibadan. The ruler is the Okere of Shaki.
