Coordinates: 16°42′N 76°50′E / 16.7, 76.83 Shahpur(Kannada: ಶಹಾಪುರ, ಷಾಹ್ಪುರ ) is a town located in Indian state of Karnataka. Shahpur is 496.7 km north of Bangalore and well connected by road to Gulbarga, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Bidar.

As of 2001 India census[2], Shahpur had a population of 29,556. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Shahpur has an average literacy rate of 52%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 61%, and female literacy is 43%. In Shahpur, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
