Shahina Siddiqui

Shahina Siddiqui is Executive Director of The Islamic Social Services Association of the United States and Canada (ISSA). She is the principal author of the "Women Friendly Mosques" initiative, a columnist for the Winnipeg Sun, and a frequent commentator on Canadian television with regards to Islamic and gender issues and middle east politics. Siddiqui is a member of the Executive Board of the Canadian branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. In May 2006 Siddiqui filed an unsuccessful formal complaint of racism against several Winnipeg Jewish community groups who cosponsored the movie "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West", which she saw as hate speech. Siddiqui's views on the Arab-Israeli conflict can be found in her 2000 article "No Peace in Islam Without Justice".
