Shahin Farhat born 1947 , 28 March in Tehran is a prolific Iranian composer studied in Tehran University where he got bachelor's degree in music, later he studied with the well-known American composer Ezea Laderman in the state University of New York in Binghamton, where he got his master's degree in composition.
He continued his post graduation works in the University of Strasbourg in France. His doctorate thesis was about the works of Iranian composers.
Farhat is the professor of music and the head department of music in University of Tehran.
