[edit] Early life
Shahid Masood spent most of his childhood (seven years) in Saudi Arabia. His father was a civil engineer who worked there for 15 years.[2] He completed his FSc from DJ Science College, Karachi, and subsequently attended Sindh Medical College receiving a MBBS degree. He started his career as a surgeon, before becoming a political commentator and analyst.[2] His television show has been off air since late 2007 when GEO Television was banned by the Pakistani Government. However, even after the restoration of GEO's transmission his show has not been aired. The lack of explanation by the television network has led many to believe that the television network has struck a deal with the government. This has cast a shadow of doubt on GEO's claim of being the only truly independent network in Pakistan.
Dr Shahid came back on air mid-April 2008,and his interview with Asif Zardari led to a new turn in Pakistan's Politics, worsening the judidicial crisis.
