Shafiullah

General Shafiullah was the first Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, serving prior to the installation of Ziaur Rahman at the post in 1975. He was preceded by Colonel M. A. G. Osmani during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War who was the "Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces" then.
