Shady Glen, officially Shady Glen Dairy Stores, is an all-American restaurant with two locations in Manchester, Connecticut. Opened in 1948, Shady Glen is a dairy bar/diner-style restaurant with a great reputation in the greater Manchester area.
Although Shady Glen has a menu of sandwiches and hot meals and homemade ice cream, it is the art of its cheeseburger that has made it famous in the annals of roadside dining. Their famous signature burger is created by laying on 4 slides of cheese so they are partly on the burger and partly directly on the grill.[1] [1]
