Shady Cove is a city in Jackson County, Oregon, United States. The population was 2,307 at the 2000 census.

Shady Cove is located at 42°36′36″N, 122°48′57″W (42.610044, -122.815923)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km²), all of it land.

As of November 1, 2007 the City was placed on Probation by FEMA for mismanagement of the Citys Rogue River Floodplain.

As of the census[1] of 2008, there were 2,870 people, 989 households, and 689 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,153.4 people per square mile (445.4/km²). There were 1,107 housing units at an average density of 553.5/sq mi (213.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.23% White, 0.30% African American, 2.25% Native American, 0.39% Asian, 0.30% from other races, and 1.52% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.90% of the population.

There were 993 households out of which 24.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.3% were non-families. 23.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.33 and the average family size was 2.73.

In the city the population was spread out with 21.6% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 22.3% from 25 to 44, 27.8% from 45 to 64, and 22.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45 years. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $33,429, and the median income for a family was $38,819. Males had a median income of $31,250 versus $23,533 for females. The per capita income for the city was $17,564. About 6.4% of families and 10.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.2% of those under age 18 and 8.2% of those age 65 or over.
