General Shabeg Singh (19251984), most highly decorated Indian Army general. He is known for his role in training of Mukti Bahini volunteers during the Bangladesh Liberation War. In essence he is the father to Indian unconventional warfare ie guerilla tactics and the fore father to all Indian speacial ops.

Major General Shabeg Singh was discharged from Indian Army with allegations of financial irregularities and kickbacks a day before his retirement.

After leaving the Army General Shabeg Singh joined Akal Takht Jathedar Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, and together with him was one of the leaders of Pro Khalistan activists who were present at the Golden Temple in Amritsar in Jume 1984. He was killed in the the controversial Indian army attack on the Harimandir sahib complex Operation Blue Star. Due to the later events much regret is held by the previous generation of the Indian Administration and mainstream Sikh Indians alike. Such an unfortunate fate for one of the greatest of Indian national hero's.
