Bhopal Express : Shaan - E - Bhopal

Bhopal Express is the daily superfast train connecting Hazrat Nizamuddin station in New Delhi to Habibganj station in Bhopal. The up-train from Habibganj to Nizamuddin is numbered 2155 and the down-train is number 2156.[1]

The intermediate stops of this train are:

  1. Habibganj
  2. Bhopal Junction
  3. Vidisha
  4. Ganj Basoda
  5. Bina Junction
  6. Jhansi Junction
  7. Gwalior
  8. Morena
  9. Agra Cantt
  10. Hazrat Nizamuddin

The train departs from HBJ at 21:05 PM and reaches HZM at 08:05, while on return journey it departs NZM at 21:00 and reaches HBJ at 07:05.[1]

This train holds the distinction of being fastest non-shatbdi, non-rajdhani train in India. It has a commercial speed of 69.5 km/h.

The train is hauled now a days by a Ghaziabad WAP-7 loco for whole journey. It consists of one First AC cum Second AC, one second AC, two third AC, Eleven Sleeper, Four General and Two parcel coaches.

It has achieved prestigious Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award in the small business category. It is also India's first ISO 9000-2001 certified train.[2]


Its First AC coach as well as sleeper S12 coach is GPS Enabled, and it provides information such as current train speed, distance to final destination, distance to next stop, and timing performance on an LED display.

Also, there is one RO water wending machine in S3 coach.
