Good article drive |
edit |
The GA drive is a method of collaboration whereby Singapore-related articles with GA potential are nominated below, the articles are "adopted" by a group of three to five SGpedians, and they collaborate to bring the article up to GA status. Articles undergoing a GA drive are not owned by those participating in the collaboration; even if you are not a collaborator, do be bold and improve articles undergoing a GA drive.
Articles don't write themselves. So write them!
[edit] Nominated articles
If you spot an Singapore-related article that has GA potential, please nominate it for the GA drive. Nominators are welcome – even encouraged – to adopt articles. Nominations should be formatted in this manner:
- * '''[[ARTICLE NAME]]''' (Notes such as "failed GAC on 4 July 2007" or link to ongoing peer review, if applicable): list issues that need to be addressed, such as "needs copy-editing" or "lack of references in History section"
- *:adopted by list SGpedians who have adopted the article, using [[User:USERNAME|]]
To adopt an article, simply add your username to its "adopted by" list and remember to participate in the collaboration! Once three or more SGpedians have "adopted" an article, it may be moved to the "Articles undergoing a GA drive" list below.
- Bonny Hicks (failed GAC on 28 March 2007): The article needs a copy-edit. The GA reviewer also commented that the article needs more context (he also asked for more references, but they appear to have been provided).
- Not adopted yet (CyberAnth is primary contributor).
- Fann Wong (former GA, delisted on 15 January 2008, see reviewer's comments): The "Awards" section is unreferenced, the "Works" section is empty, the lead section should be polished and several short paragraphs should be expanded (or merged into other paragraphs).
- Adopted by Hildanknight
- I Not Stupid Too: The Plot section needs to be summarised and the Reception section expanded, after which the article should be copy-edited and checked for MoS violations.
- Adopted by Hildanknight.
- Indians in Singapore: needs a once-over (copyediting and Wikification) by an experienced SGpedian, and there may be an issue regarding some of the statistics used in the article that Jacklee raised on the talk page which has yet to be resolved. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 12:59, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- Not adopted yet.
- Odex's actions against file-sharing (failed FAC on 7 December 2007, failed GAC on 18 December 2007 due to hold expiring): There is a dispute over whether the screenshot from the "Xedo Holocaust" animation should be included. The article needs copy-editing and the lead section should be polished.
- Not adopted yet (Mailer diablo, the primary contributor, left Wikipedia).
- Singapore (former GA, delisted on 16 July 2007, see GA/R and recent peer review): The article needs more references and a copy-edit. It also has many MoS violations that need to be dealt with.
- Not adopted yet.
- Singapore 2006 (failed GAC on 18 January 2007): The article offers weak coverage of several areas (such as logistics) and needs a copy-edit. Several short sections are problematic.
- Not adopted yet (Huaiwei has expressed interest).
- Singapore Airlines (failed GAC on 7 October 2006): The article has a long history of disputes, which must be resolved for it to be stable. Some sections are poorly referenced. Short paragraphs should be merged or expanded.
- Not adopted yet.
[edit] Articles undergoing a GA drive
The GA drive is a new and experimental method of collaboration. Discussion, criticism and suggestions should be posted on the talk page.
[edit] Pending
List here alphabetically articles that have been nominated for GA status and are awaiting review. If an article achieves GA status, remove it from this list and insert it into the "Featured articles and honourable mentions" section above.
[edit] Failed
List here alphabetically articles that were nominated for GA status but failed to achieve it, and brief reasons why this occurred for members' information. The list should be cleared or archived regularly.
