[edit] AfD Nomination: Firefly Family
I've nominated the article Firefly Family for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Firefly Family satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Firefly Family. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Firefly Family during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion.--CyberGhostface 21:19, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:VolganInsignia.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:VolganInsignia.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:16, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:VolganInsignia.JPG)
Thanks for uploading Image:VolganInsignia.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Battle Royale Red Links
Hi there, regarding the comment you left on my talk page, do you have a link to the page you saw those red links on? I'm struggling to think why I might be the right person to talk to about this because I can't recall having typed it! Addyboy 20:59, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hitman
Well, I don't know exactly what articles I deleted, so if you could show me, that'd be appreciated. As for the List of villains, well that was deleted under AfD. There was no objection to keep the article at all, and I doubt this listcruft would make it again in DRV. Nishkid64 17:25, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Invisible Man
I just cleaned up the article Griffin (The Invisible Man) as instructed. I removed the references to Griffin's supposed relations in the Universal movies as I did not feel they were relevant to the article. If you would like me to make any further changes let me know. [edit] AfD nomination of Subterranean Monsters in popular culture
An editor has nominated Subterranean Monsters in popular culture, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Subterranean Monsters in popular culture and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. [edit] Image tagging for Image:Russo-Mongolian-Insignia.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Russo-Mongolian-Insignia.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Edit summaries
Please, please use edit summaries, especially when making massive edits like you did to Characters in the Inheritance Trilogy. I nearly reverted your edit and marked it as vandalism because you removed a ton of information, but didn't provide an edit summary letting others know what you were doing. I had to check the individual pages to see if you actually moved the information, but I know there would be other people who wouldn't take the time to do that and would just revert. A simple, short edit summary would have avoided me confusion and could possibly prevent you from being accused of vandalism in the future. I highly encourage you to use them for every single edit, no matter how large or small, just to prevent any possible confusion about your motives. Thank you. --pIrish talk, contribs 14:28, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello, SGCommand. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Bonds-6.jpg) was found at the following location: User:SGCommand/Main/The James Bond Villains Guide. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. [edit] Sin Dex
OK I'll have a look at it later. (Emperor 12:49, 17 May 2007 (UTC))
- I had a quick run through. There was too much formatting (bold in particular should only ever be used sparingly and in tightly defined places) and I added an infobox. I also moved some information out to plot. The charcater list looks fine now although it could possibly do with losing a few folks like minor enforcers. The important thing is the plot needs expanding - not in vast detail but to give an overview of events, changing allegiances, etc. so that someone coming in new would have an outline of what happened and how the characters got there and who the main players are. [edit] List of Dune Characters page
Hi. I don't have any objections to redoing the page in that format...if you're really feeling up to the work! :) (Sorry for the delay in responding!) --SandChigger 14:12, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Whoa there, I see you're trying to find a place to collect the Dune character stubs, but this article is now WAY too long. Even the edit page says so. Large articles like Thufir Hawat ets should stay in their individual articles. This is crazy! You should just include a quick blrb about each character and then a link to the main article, like your example. TAnthony 16:58, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- I think it should be a complete list, but after thinking even more about it, it should follow the Inheritance example and just contain a sentence or two about each character. I'm not sure there are Dune character articles small enough to be merged in here, the miscellaneous Bene Gesserit and minor Fremen have already been merged into their own sizeable articles, List of Dune Bene Gesserit and List of Dune Fremen. And I'm pretty sure SandChigger will agree with me here. I may just revert the article so we can start from scratch, if you don't mind. TAnthony 17:07, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

- Hi. Sorry, but it seems we had a bit of a misunderstanding the other day. I'm not familiar with the "Inheritance Trilogy" and just looked at the first few examples at the top of the list on that page you linked to (on my talk page) and, like TAnthony, I thought you meant just a few sentences at most with a link to a main article for those characters that have/warrant one. (Taking another look just now, I see that some of the characters on that list—more toward the bottom—have rather lengthy descriptions...maybe OK for those without their own pages, but not for those with.) Ditto on it being a complete list.
- Just getting up over here (along with the Rising Sun), so this was kind of an amusing thing to wake up to. No harm done! :) --SandChigger 20:30, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Highlander: The Source
- I would think so, since it is a released film in the Highlander series. Just make sure to use the trimmed down template. I realize that with it just being broadcast on SciFi, citations might not be out there yet, but if you can find any sort of infromation from the cast or crew about the new characters' development, it would really be a cut above the other articles, which are far too in-universe to avoid editing for long.
- If you think you need help, you should definitely post in the Highlander Wikiproject, as that is supposed to be the launchpad for any and all things Highlander article-related. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 17:33, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Redirect of COMPNOR
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on COMPNOR, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because COMPNOR is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting COMPNOR, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Speedy deletion of The Creep
A tag has been placed on The Creep, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion A7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. -- Sander Säde 17:00, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of The Creep
The Creep, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that The Creep satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Creep and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of The Creep during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Aminmetac0004by9.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Aminmetac0004by9.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:13, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Phezzan Dominion
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Phezzan Dominion, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:VolganInsignia.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:VolganInsignia.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:39, 20 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih (talk) 01:39, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

The page has gone through some major changes in the last few months, and it would be fantastic if a prominent editor/contributor like yourself, could head over and give us at the Heroes Wikiproject some sound opinion and ideas on improvements for the page. We have all worked very hard at improving the page, and we need great outside, reliable and trustworthy users to come over and help us improve. I you are interested in joining the peer review discussion with other prominent users/contributors, much like yourself, please follow the link. [edit] Speedy deletion of The Lasting Scar
A tag has been placed on The Lasting Scar, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from History of the Boy Scouts of America. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -MBK004 20:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ahh, as the message says above, when doing that use an edit summary, because what I saw was the removal of cited information for no reason. You might want to start using them, take a look at this: your edit summary usage for the last 150 major and minor mainspace edits. -MBK004 20:28, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
