Rather than get into a revert war over this, I was hoping you could explain why you think Tupac Amaru and Tupac Inca Yupanqui are relevent to Tupac's name. It looks like this user is either Kellie herself, or someone acting on her behalf with the intention of promoting her. Obviously, I'm in favor of a fact-based article, without claims of miracles and other unsubstantiated views. Please do not move Neem Karoli Baba. Like many spiritual teachers, he did not use his birth name. There are several books about him and he is mentioned in many other and they ALL refer to him as Neem Karoli Baba. He ashrams use that name as well, both in the US and India. Also, you should know better than to move articles by cut and paste. Maybe so but since the content is part of the explanation for the word sannyassin, known in the west as followers of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, the word has gotten another meaning but the hindustani. So instead of removing I suggest you add explanation and alternative links to this, especially since other wikipedia pages have gracefully accepted the links to the pages you refer to as 'my own', as a well expressed part of an explanation for a term. I suggest to re-place the previous content and leave one link to a sannyassin story on 'my web'. And please put your explanation as the classic hindu sadhu- sannyasa in there too. ShanT

The lowercase "west" threw me - I assumed it was the west of somewhere, rather than the West. Many articles are marked as stubs and never returned to, but I accept that I may have been over hasty - I'll take another look. jimfbleak

The site you are using as your source for the mantras is.... well.... nothing. It doesn't say what it is. It needs to be a reputable source or we need to take the material out. I am a critic of the TM program for sure, check out the transcendental meditation page... and I have yet to find a decent source for the mantras.

Even if we could find such a source, I don't see what listing them in the article does? Maybe in the TM article (and if you look there I have already inserted, with sources, that they are Bija mantras), but why stick it in the Maharishi article?

Hi. You recently did a massive reversion of the Tourism article, described as a revert of vandalism, which as far as I can tell took the article back several months to an inferior version, with lots of errors and a NPOV dispute, losing a considerable amount of text and a large number of edits in the process. Can I check this wasn't a simple error? Could you point out the vandalism, and which version you reverted to so we can build the article back up again. Yeah, Sorry about that, what happened is that a user added a bit on nonsense to the article, and while I was working on reverting it, another user reverted it, meaning that I reverted to a version prior to the previous revert. Howdy - yes I agree, (no, have never done one) however we should wait untill he further edits the articles. First of all though, he should be reported for using two (or more?) usernames to make edits to articles. What do you think? Sockpuppets usually get banned indefinitely from wikipedia.

Just to be clear - my aim is not to absolutely censor the guy, but make sure the articles in question aren't used as PR or promotion of TM. What makes it difficult is his edits, many of which are clear acts of vandalism.

Let's give it a few hours, and then call in the cavalry (RFC) ;)

I am being vandalized by one or two people on Sahaj Marg where you left me a "heads up" on Ban of Gay and lesbians"

I don't see them in the History but my pages are changed...One Ip address has a lot of warnings on his talk page.... How can I tell who is doing it? There is no history. the numbers are 87.48.115.147 which I think is not doing it but there is this one who has a lot of warnings on his site...203.199.211.18 he seem to be using a bot...Can you advise me how to deal with Vanalism??

PS I have tried to keep your edit on Gays and Lesbians on Sahaj Marg site but It got watered down as the editor claims that there are now preceptors and abhyasis in the Mission...I am trying to keep the "tone" of the speech intact...Let me know if that is clear to you and accurate to what you see....If you have any other info, please go and add to the data base on-line...

Talk pages of articles should not be used to recruit supporters to push a POV in other . articles, but only for improving the article. See wikipedia:talk page. It isn't pushing a POV, merely gathering opinions on what should be done in the article before reaching concensus and acting upon it.

Some religions have a portal, such as portal:Hinduism, other do not, which is why I left a request on the ISKON page for peer review, as they too are concerned by the undergoings in the Guru article.

I don't believe that my description is a misrepresentation, as I based it on the talk and described what was going on.

It is important to get peer review, so that people like yourself (who have openly admitted they wish to push their POV) do not succeed in doing so. Sfacets 21:15, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Invitation and Recommendations for writing articles on Hindi Wikipedia

Hindi wikipedia invites and welcomes Wikipedians to contribute for the cause of spreading knowledge and the Hindi language. This page contains guidelines for writing a wiki-article on any topic at the Hindi Wikipedia, with special recommendations for writing in Hindi (Note: The script/font-family for Hindi is Devanāgari; the script/font-system for English is Roman script, also, the Hindi spelling system is not completely standardized). This article is yet in English language (mostly), in order to encourage even non-native/foreign people who have learnt/are learning Hindi to contribute to the Hindi wikipedia, and native Hindi speakers who normally write in English. The examples given below are only for explanation. Recommendations:

  1. Firstly for proper viewing, it is recommended to keep all links NOT-UNDERLINED. Otherwise the मात्रा below the Hindi alphabets might get partly hidden behind the underlines. For this, please go to My Preferences (मेरी पसंद) at the top of the page, then click Misc., and then choose "underline links -> Never". Save your settings. Also, do not click yes for "justify paragraphs", otherwise on some browsers, the devanagari script will appear highly distorted.
  2. All users are requested and encouraged to contribute articles here, especially, to create new articles on general topics. They are also encouraged to expand the existing articles, and improve upon them. A non-user can also do the same; it is recommended but not required to register yourself as a wikipedian user at the Hindi wikipedia. As far as possible, each article should be written with a Neutral Point of View (NPOV)—no nationalistic or partiality or hatred based articles are welcome. The articles should be based on facts—and appropriate references should be provided as and where needed. See the English wiki's help page for editing in general. Almost all the general wiki-features are available for editing on Hindi wiki too. Guidelines for the content matter is mostly the same as given in English wiki.
  3. Since the Hindi wiki is at its initial stages, users are welcome to take introduction and basic points from the English (or another) wikipedia's corresponding article and translate them for small articles. An in-page link to the English wiki's article will be deemed sufficient for references (a template might be created stating this). For longer articles, it is recommended to mention the references separately.
  4. Since most computer users in India and elsewhere have the standard Western-type keyboard, it is best recommended (but not necessarily required) to use the virtual (software) keyboard like the one of Hindimozhi or of ISIS (Tavultesoft Keyman)—which are freewares. These are advantageous because the contemporary Hindi-speakers in India often write messages/chat using Hindi words but written in Roman (English) script, and the layout of these keyboards is quite the same that such people use. For example, using the "normal" keyboard with this software, typing ga would give ग and ghaa would give घा.
  5. Create the article with its name written in Hindi (devanagari script). Always take care to include the nukta (dot below) for foreign / Urdu loanwords wherever it occurs in the standard spelling. For non-Indian names, use that spelling (for article name and other words) which is commonly encountered in Hindi newspapers, G.K.-books, Hindi-dubbed TV documentaries and Hollywood films and magazines. e.g., America-अमरीका (या अमेरिका), China-चीन, French-फ़्रांसिसी. For English acronyms/short-forms, use the initials in Roman script, and again create a full form in Hindi and redirect it to the short form. e.g. IPA (अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय ध्वनि वर्णाक्षर); UNO (संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ). Doing the opposite is also fine. But creating the article with the Hindi short form, as सं०रा०सं०, is not recommended. Also, the article proper must be written with the proper nukta, as फ़ारसी, and then, a non-nukta (mis-)spelt version फारसी should preferably be created to redirect to the correct spelling.
  6. Hindi wikipedia strongly recommends the users to write articles in everyday common Hindi in the खड़ीबोली dialect (Hindustani or Hindi-Urdu, i.e., बोलचाल वाली हिन्दी, which may include many loanwords from Persian and Arabic). The use of शुद्ध संस्कृतनिष्ठ हिन्दी is in general neither required nor recommended. E.g., use: वजह instead of कारण, ख़ास instead of विशेष, वगैरह instead of इत्यादि, लेकिन instead of परन्तु etc. However, for technical and specialized vocabulary, the use of शुद्ध संस्कृतनिष्ठ हिन्दी is recommended and usually mandatory. Thus: upper House of Parliament—संसद का उच्च सदन, but not Urdu—मजिलिस का ऐवान-ए-बाला ; Foreign Minister—विदेशमन्त्री, but not Urdu—वज़ीर-ए-ख़ारिजा ; knowledge/science—ज्ञान/विज्ञान, but not इल्म. Use spoken Hindi's ये and वो instead of यह and वह / वे. Do not use the title of respect जी after names, it is unencyclopedic. Thus: कृष्ण / श्री कृष्ण but not कृष्ण जी. Use the आप form and its corresponding 3rd person verbal conjugation for writing about respectable persons. Thus: श्री वाजपेयी मध्य प्रदेश में जन्मे थे. But not: वाजपेयी मध्य प्रदेश में जन्मा था. But do not use the pronoun "आप" itself in-text in biographies.
  7. English should be used sparingly, only when required; i.e., if the corresponding शुद्ध हिन्दी word is too "difficult and not generally encountered", or if it is a proper name of non-Indian person/place/terminology/title, or if the user is highly unsure of the proper translation. It is recommended (but not required) for English-to-Hindi translation while writing articles, the Shabdkosh online dictionary should be used. For each English word, that alternative should be used which is generally encountered in everyday spoken Hindi, and also fits well into the context. Use of intelligent guesses for newly encountered words is also allowed, and so are translations encountered in Hindi-dubbed TV documentaries, Hollywood films, Hindi-translated books, etc. e.g., दमपिशाच for en:Dementor (used in dubbed HP films).
  8. If used, it is recommended to use the English words within the articles using the English (Roman) alphabets rather than devanagari (or better, the devanagari transliteration should be used in the sentence, followed by the English word in Roman alphabet in parentheses). Such words should be italicized and not put in quotation marks. Preferably, there should be an in-page interwiki link (like :en:) on the word to the English wikipedia. If the word comes as an integral part of a sentence, so as not to break the continuity, the en: prefix should be hidden by writing the word again after the pipe sign (piped link). Thus, recommended: हैरी पॉटर ने ''[[:en:Pensieve|Pensieve]]'' के अन्दर ''[[:en:Little Hangleton|Little Hangleton]]'' गाँव में लॉर्ड वोल्डेमॉर्ट की माँ ''[[:en:Merope Gaunt|Merope Gaunt]]'' को देखा. ''[[:en:Resplendent Quetzal|Resplendent Quetzal]]'' पक्षी के ऊपर एक मेक्सिकन पादरी डा० ''[[:en:Pablo de la Llave|Pablo de la Llave]]'' ने काफ़ी शोध किया था. Whence,

  9. Always start the first 1 or 2 lines of the article giving its definition (from any standard dictionary/other wiki) or suitable introduction. Thus, recommended: ललिता सहस्रनामन हिन्दू धर्मसुधारक आदि शंकराचार्य द्वारा रचित देवी दुर्गा को समर्पित एक पूजा-मन्त्र है, जिसे कई हिन्दू रोज़ श्रद्धा से जपते हैं । But not: ललिता सहस्रनामन मन्त्र जपने के लिये लड्डू-पेड़ा, ताम्बुल, सिन्दूर, लाल चुनरी के साथ नित्य इस मन्त्र का पाठ करें, तो जल्द ही गड़ा हुआ ख़जाना मिलेगा । Recommended: वैमानिक अभियान्त्रिकी (en:Aeronautical engineering) विमानों (en:Aircrafts) की अभिकल्पना, निर्माण और प्रचालन करने का विज्ञान, कला और कार्य है । (translated from Eng. Webster's New World Dictionary). But not: आजकल वैमानिक अभियान्त्रिकी के लिये देशभर में कई कॉलेज खुल गये हैं, जिनमें अग्रणी स्थान यूटोपिया स्थित लालू-यादव टेक्लिनक कॉलेज का है ।
  10. For names of countries, cities, places, languages, people, books, films, technical vocabulary, mythology, etc, start the article like this:
    • 1. The name in bold ('''अपोलो''')
    • 2. starting parenthesis, then English name in Roman script, in-page interwiki-linked to English wiki ff. by semicolon ((अंग्रेज़ी : [[:en:Apollo]];)
    • 3. The native name(s) if applicable in the italicized native script, preferably followed either by its italicized approximate Hindi pronunciation or non-italicized phonological transcription within / /, ff. by closed parenthesis (यूनानी : ''Aπollων अपोल्लोन''))
    • 4. the rest of the definition or introduction (प्राचीन [[यूनानी धर्म]] (ग्रीक धर्म) और प्राचीन [[रोमन धर्म]] के सर्वोच्च देवता थे ।) For country names, only the standard short form of the name is needed in the first line. If there is a common name for a difficult word in Hindustani, also mention it. Whence: अपोलो (अंग्रेज़ी : en:Apollo; यूनानी : Aπollων अपोल्लोन) प्राचीन यूनानी धर्म (ग्रीक धर्म) और प्राचीन रोमन धर्म के सर्वोच्च देवता थे । If you don't give the interwiki English/another language link (which would be deemed to be the default reference), then you MUST provide an appropriate reference.
  11. Please leave no article without an appropriate category. See the list of created categories here; you can also make a new category (pref. in Hindi). Please leave no article without at least ONE off page (like en:) interwiki link. E.g., the user can check the article name (say Apollo) on the finally redirected English page and append to the Hindi article ([[en:Appolo]])). These interlanguage links will help a bot to update all interwiki links for that article in all wikipedias. The category and the aforementioned link should be typed at the end of the article. If the article is very small, mention it as a stub/substub.
  12. Use of templates is welcome. See the list of templates here. If creating a template, name it pref. in Hindi.
  13. Use पूर्णविराम ( । ) instead of a period (.) for ending statements. The पूर्णविराम, semicolon, colon and dash (but not comma) must come after one space after the word to prevent ambiguity. Use the international form of the Hindu-Arabic numerals (1,2,3 instead of १,२,३), as used by the Constitution and the Government of India (even for Hindi). There is no need to use the हलन्त at the end of Sanskrit words wherever it occurs. Hence, prefer: संसद over संसद्; अथर्वन over अथर्वन्. Use the proper quotation marks “” from the Insert toolbox, not "". Write dates as 2 मई 2006 (ईसवी or ईसापूर्व). Write time as 3:45 pm. Separate common suffix-words like शास्त्र, विज्ञान, ज्ञान with a hyphen. Thus: रसायन-शास्त्र. For most others, leave both the words of the noun-cluster free. Combine them into one word only if it is very common to do so. Thus: सामवेद.
  14. The use of ज़ for the en:voiced alveolar fricative (/z/, as in zoo, rose) is fundamentally wrong. Its nearest counterpart is the en:voiceless alveolar fricative /s/ (as in sea), and not Hindi ज (en:voiced palatal plosive). Hence, it is suggested and recommended that for the sound /z/, whether it comes in English (etc.) spellings (z) for while pronunciation otherwise, should be transcribed as स़ (स with a dot below, available in the Insert toolbox). Hence: Reason रीस़न, not रीज़न ; Roses रोस़ेस़, not रोज़ेज़. But common Hindi words borrowed from Persian/Arabic (so-called Urdu words) are allowed to continue with ज़ spelling. Thus: ज़रा, नज़र, तर्ज़. The en:voiced postalveolar fricative (/ʒ/ as in treasure), inexistent in Hindi, can similarly be transcribed with श़. Thus: treasure ट्रॅश़र. The nukta (dot) available in the Insert toolbox can be combined with various consonants to suggest a more exact phonetic devanagari rendering of foreign sounds. E.g., since phonetically, English Think and this are not equal to थिंक and दिस, a better transcription could be थ़िंक and द़िस. Please take care of the dot below in so-called Urdu words, otherwise the Hindi spelling is deemed incorrect.
  15. For the following English vowels met, mate, mat, transcribe as मॅट (short vowel), मेट (not मेइट), मैट (not मॅट, as popular in Marathi). However in contemporary Hindi and here, it is acceptable to use ए instead of ऍ. Thus: अमेरिका is more popular than अमॅरिका. For cot, coat, caught, transcribe as कॉट, कोट, कॉट (not कौट). Transcribe English /t/ and /d/ as ट and ड.
  16. Use half-न before त, थ, द, ध, न, instead of anuswaar अं. Use half-म before प, फ, ब, भ, म. Use the anuswaar before all the rest of the consonants (not half-ङ, ञ, ण). If the मात्रा is not above the alphabet, use chandra-bindu, but only for nasalization. Thus: अन्दर, not अंदर ; अन्त, not अंत ; हिन्दी, not हिंदी ; सम्भव, not संभव ; पंचमी, not पञ्चमी ; अंडा, not अण्डा ; कंठ, not कण्ठ ; लैंड, not लैण्ड ; आँख, not आंख. However, both forms are acceptable in contemporary Hindi as well as here; the prec. are just recommendations.
  17. When proceded by another vowel, use the pure vowels instead of य (unless the य is clearly articulated while pronouncing). Thus : जाएँ, not जायें (not जावें) ; आएगा, not आयेगा . However, both forms are acceptable in contemporary Hindi as well as here.
  18. Please pay careful attention to the masculine/feminine gender (and singular/plural) in adjectives and verbs, else the sentence becomes ungrammatical.

Hi, you reinserted the {{current}} tag on the Amir Massoud Tofangsazan article. I am finding trying to maintain the current backlog a bit of a nightmare, to say the least. I would appreciate any comments you have on the general use of this tag there.

The original idea was to tag articles which were rapidly changing, however its clearly not being used for that any more.

Yes, I see what you mean - The tag as described in the discusson on template policy would suggest that it is overkill to use it for this article when compared to articles with a higher edit rate. In this case mainly what is changing daily is the blog stats...

  • Creation of a neutral history of swaminarayan sect which depicts the emergance of various sects, their beliefs and their works.

Perhaps you can tell me the process... since I am new to Wikipedia and you were the first editor type person to contact me...

There is a page that shows the discussion regarding why the page on the Bias in South Asian Studies was paired down and rerouted to Indology. During that discussion, my name is repeatedly mentioned, with derogatory, pejorative tones by one person that seems to have an agenda. He/she dismissed my main work with Sindhis and Badshah Khan, and my analyses about Indian Studies, and implicated me as evil simply because I was in a terrible auto accident and while I was in a coma a group had a fund raiser for me. This person didn't like that group, I myself have differences with them, but I had helped them on an education project. Therefore, when I had the near fatal accident, they had an on-line fund raiser. That information is still on their website. That is the proof of my unqualification to contribute, offered by the person who worked the hardest to remove the page on the Bias in South Asian Studies. That person’s agenda was in full view. He/she also told a lie based on what he/she supposedly "heard" at UT Austin. Hearsay gossip, with no basis in reality should not play a part in editorial decisions. I did not get kicked out of the Asian Studies PhD program. I received my masters--my thesis was a study of the representation of India in World History textbooks. The chair of the department of Curriculum and Instruction invited me to come to her department to do my PhD. She made the offer very attractive. When I was a in the Department of Asian Studies I had worked almost fulltime was the Outreach Coordinator. I liked my job because it was about educating about Asia and that is why I chose to get my PhD in Curriculum Studies, where I could study the representation of India in mainstream academia.

To whom should I write to object to the slanderous tone that was used against me and that was therefore successful in removing a worthy webpage. Like one of the editors said, there are web pages about bias against many other disciplines… why should we hide the bias in South Asian Studies? We should talk about it and get it out in the open and see if it is impacting the field. Denying the phenomenon will not neutralize it.


You could ask to be reviewed Wikipedia:Deletion_review, however it is important that a neutral tone and content are maintained in an article... it seems unlikely seeing the amount of contreversy surrounding this issue that you would be able to re-open the article.

Regarding the slanderous tone, not much can be done, unfortunately... unless a user/users have been behing a personal attack.

Perhaps you could elaborate any criticisms you have concerning the issues regarding bias in South Asian Studies in the indology article as a section - once the section attains a certain size and relevance (cites unbiased and relevant sources and backs up any criticism made) then it could always eventually be re-instated.

Don't hesitate to ask if you need any further assistance, I will also be keeping an eye on any bias appearing on the Indology article.

Clark Powell AKA CP-Sacha is not accurate as usual on his above statement about me. I paraphrased the section in question as per Wikipedia Policy and then posted it. If you think it needs more let me know and I will acquiesce.

Clark had his own site called "invertendo.com" which was forced to close by the Guru, Chari and he is now trying to use Wikipedia to "proselytize" and please the Guru and get back in his facour as he is now heading off to India. We who are regulars to the site and are trying to make it an encyclopedia rather than a PR site for "the Mission" have has continuous edit battles with him. Hello Sfacets, this is in reference to the wiki article on 'salman ahmad', this tabloid site raw.com.pk keeps posting their links, and that particular link they posted is about a band called 'vital signs', and is accusing them of being 'copy cats', just part of a groupie (from another band called mizraab, posting with alias rameez) personal hate mongering campaign against the band.

Firstly, the article from raw.com.pk has nothing to do with the band Junoon or Salman Ahmad, and is rather biased, and according the wikipedia rules, biased links, which have nothing to do with the subject at hand, and is a mere attempt for them to get hits on their site. I request you to read that article. It does not even mention 'salman ahmad', so why does it need to be there in the first place? You will find its very biased, which is why it is not coming from an unauthentic news site, which is 'hardly' credible.

Hi Sfacets...

In Sahaj Marg, the "Teachings from the Sahaj Marg Material" is like discussing the "Bible", one has to quote it word for word. I paraphrased the rest of the material. If I paraphrase this section, the heading is not correct and could be discussed ad nauseum by abhyasis who will claim that I am "interpreting"...and without authority as I am not "one of them", so cannot understand it properly. Quotes seems to be the only way to go!!!

I will make headings for that section. What do you suggest? Should I paraphrase anyway and get into the "edit wars". Most have already accepted that the "words of the Master" are fair game much as the words of Christ are fair game when discussing the Bible....

I am writing in reference to a Copyright violation posting on the Swami Ramdev page. - If you originated this concern then this information may help shed light as to why there is NOT an issue and - If you did not post the copyright concern, perhaps, you can direct me to the appropriate person/process for resolution.

You can notice that the content is picked up mostly verbatim from the section SWAMI of the page on Wiki. The external article also states that its source is the Baba Ramdev article on Wikipedia among others

- Most of the content of the section SWAMI on Wiki was posted by me as original material based on info received from Swamiji's Divvya Yoga personnel. Over time this content was edited and modified to its current form

CONCLUSION: - If the copyright concern stems from the SWAMI section then I believe its a non-issue

FOLLOW-UP: - Am not very familiar with Wiki, so let me know as a next step what needs to happen

Yes, I see you have added new material in your second edit. But you should cite it as you add it. Presumably you are getting the information from somewhere. It is not fair for you to add material and then ask others to source and cite it for you. Thus, if you proceed correctly and not add information without sourcing and citing it, there would be no need for a tag!! It would appear, perhaps because Big Brother isn't airing in Australia, the United Kingdom, or the United States at the moment, that activity on Big Brother-related articles has died down quite a bit. I did not mention anything about trance or electricity. Ohm is another way to write Aum (the Hinduism-related symbol) in the Latin alphabet, similar to Om. Hi there, I've noticed that you're very involved in Wikipedia. Kudos! I've been involved for more than a year, mostly doing minor grammatical corrections, but I wrote some of the material for the Sahaj Marg article, back in September of 2005. I'd like to know what you think of the post I added to the discussion pages of these articles: Sahaj Marg and Shri Ram Chandra Mission, as I noticed that you've posted there, and you seem familiar with the topic and Wikipedia in general.

I'd like to collaborate with you, 4d-don and cp-sakha on getting a NPOV approved version of the article up and running. Also, do you know: is there a governing board that makes the POV notice decision? When the next incarnation of the article is posted, who makes the decision to take the POV notice down?

Please, cease with the personal attacks at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sahaja Yoga International, as they are not helping your case. For example, your accusation that I have been removing valid sources from the article.

Considering the quantity of articles that you have dealt with on Wikipedia, I am actually surprised by your recent behavior. The information on your userpage implies that you have extensive experience with Wikipedia and with fighting vandalism. Yet your behavior as regards SYI has been in violation of Wikipedia policies, such as WP:V. Have you re-read it recently? Especially the part that says that any unsourced information can be removed from Wikipedia at any time, by any editor? Also, I think that you are confused about the purpose of an AfD discussion. It is not a competition or a vote, it is not about "winning" or "losing", it is about having a civil and good faith discussion between editors in order to determine a proper course of action. I still genuinely believe that the best course of action is to merge the SYI article into the Sahaja Yoga article. Why are you so against this? It would not mean anything negative about SYI, and all sourced information would still be on Wikipedia -- it would simply be merging information from two articles, into one article. I have read it. And as you say any unsourced information can be removed from Wikipedia at any time, by any editor. You removed sources from the article. How can their be a premise of good faith when there is an inequality setup from the beginning stemming from the fact that you do not divulge your main account name?

In what way was I violating Wiki policy?

You say that you genuinely believe that the best course of action is to merge the two articles, and yet your edits belie this, such as when you make edits that have nothing to do with merging the two articles, and give all appearances of nitpicking - such as flagging the logo image.

Why am I against merging the two aricles? Sahaja Yoga is two things, has always been two things, and there is a large separation between Sahaja Yoga, a form of meditation from the Shakta tradition, and Sahaja Yoga the organisation, which is an actual organisation in many countries, which coordinates, and manages both the spread of the message behind Sahaja Yoga, as well as offshoots of this message, such as NGO activities, Medical research, music and art.

I know you just want to merge the two articles, and I want to assume good faith, so long as you can stick to facts (calling Sahaja Yoga a cult shows POV) and to the task at hand, which is determining wether or not the article will remain. Sfacets 20:40, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Actually there's a confusion on the image page. The uploader (you) has said that the source is unknown. First off, the sources for all Fair Use images must be listed. Second, it has also been tagged as "Attribution ShareAlike License v. 2.5:" with the creator being "Sfacets". How can "Sfacets" be the creator if the source is unknown? If we can find a fresh copy of the logo, whose source is known, then we can have a legitimate Fair Use claim for it. -Will Beback 21:14, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
