I reverted the last edits; they seemed hastily made and contained spelling and grammatical errors. Also I objected to this statement: "Sexual repression is a term used a viewpoint disagreeing with sexual behavioral norms to characterize such norms in negative terms. Use of the term "sexual repression" is often associated with claims that sexual norms induce feelings of guilt or shame associated with sexual impulses."
I recognize the need to be NPOV here, but I think this statement could be seen as potentially more POV than what we had before. This statement seems to suggest that the term "sexual repression" is only used in the context of people trying to oppose a certain kind of behavioral norm. I do not see any evidence that this is the case--nor do I think that the use of the term "sexual repression" necessarily involves disagreeing with sexual behavioral norms. Sexual repression refers to the lack of expression of sexuality, not the violation of social norms. People who talk about sexual repression are talking more about peoples' desires and feelings, rather than the acts that they engage in. Also, one can talk about sexual repression even in the context of agreeing with various sexual norms. The book cited in the first paragraph is actually an example of how people can discuss sexual repression in a context that does not call into question all sexual norms and indeed reinforces many of them. If you doubt this, read the book! Cazort (talk) 23:21, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Also, I would welcome discussion or inclusion of statement about the relation between the usage of the term sexual repression and viewpoints on sexual norms, but I think that such a statement would require some sort of citation! BTW, I also want to emphasize that I think Freud was a nutcase, so I'd love to see some scholarly work that I could cite that says that people tend to think that. Cazort (talk) 00:52, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

What do you think of the idea of making sexual repression direct to this page and then have a "for the use of the term in biology see sexual repression (biology)? As much as I love biology, this page seems to be a topic of much greater general interest. Cazort (talk) 18:20, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
I just made this change. Cazort (talk) 00:25, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
