From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Born in Truro, Cornwall, and lived on the Isles of Scilly until I needed to move away to college (no further education facilities in Scilly). Studied at Truro College, Cornwall, A-levels in maths, physics and geography. Received a BSc from the University of Southampton in Geophysical Sciences.

I am interested in origins of the World today, from the Hadean eon and geology, through human evolution, human migration, the ancient civilisations, international histories (forming of modern countries) to local history (Isles of Scilly), as well as language, lingustics and culture. Similarly, I am also interested the origin of how people think, including philosophy, religion and psycology.

Other than 'placing' our World, I enjoy films and some TV that "gives me something", like a laugh, a new line of thought, dramatising or romanticising something I care about. I enjoy most music that doesn't "have an attitude problem".

Here, along with Scilly News, I contribute articles on the local history of the Isles of Scilly, including the 335 Years War and various shipwrecks (e.g. MV Cita).
