LATE NEWS BULLETINS: Is there actually a late news bulletin from 11:30? Samantha Armytage seems to present her last update at 10:30 and says "that's all from 7News for this evening. Goodnight." It doesn't sound like there are late news bulletins. The 10:30 update includes more news and also includes the national weather forecast.

I removed the Seven logo from the Seven News page. My reasoning behind this is that it's the Seven Network logo, not the Seven News logo. The opener screen cap provided seems to cover the logo sufficiently without having the Seven Network logo added too. DynaBlast 09:42, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

I deleted the summer newsreaders. Summer is over, and we're back to regular newsreader's roles. By the time summer comes around again the list will probably need to be changed anyway. It's just dead weight at the moment. DynaBlast 06:51, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

You do realise that encyclopedia's do include historical information as well as what's happening right now... Austvguy

I do realise that, but I don't think who read the news in the summer of *insert year here* is noteworthy, just as a soap opera article for example doesn't list every character who's ever been on the series. If anything we should be trying to build up the actual content of the Seven News article rather than trying to make a long list of people's names. DynaBlast 08:01, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

I think this article should be at 7News rather than Seven News. 7 droped the 'Seven News' for '7News' when they moved to Martin Place, and they use it on all promotional material. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.84.33.90 (talk • contribs)

I agree, "7News" is used alot more than what it used to be and therefore the article should be moved. TKLM 09:13, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
I oppose. While Seven do use "7NEWS" on-air, they still use "Seven News" quite a lot off air. The Seven News website seems to alternate between to two (ie http://au.news.yahoo.com/news/about-7-news.html uses "Seven News" 14 times, "7News" 10 times). The Seven Network's corporate website (http://www.sevencorporate.com.au) exclusively uses the term "Seven News" in every report. "Seven News" is also the name used by TV guides. When it comes to print (/internet) media, it seems "Seven News" is the more popular title. Tntnnbltn 19:01, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

I reverted a number of edits by User:58.178.252.58 (See diff: [1]). Reasons were as follows: Weekend Sunrise is already mentioned under Sunrise, and probably doesn't need it own section. We don't really need to say the hosts do the weather -- if none is specified, people will assume the main anchor does it. The pictures added (Samantha Armytage presenting Seven Late News Updates, and Chris Bath presenting Seven News Sydney were incorrect -- they are both presenting other bulletins in the pictures being used. Also I doubt we need two pictures to represent those bulletins (remember we have to abide by fair use policies. No more than needed to illustrate the bulletin in question). The second section header should not be changed to brown, as it is not a colour used in Seven News and is inconsistent with the first header. And finally, the second header should continue to read "Local Bulletins" rather than "6pm State-Wide Bulletins" as the local bulletins aren't shown at 6pm in all areas (Prime Television, for example, airs state-wide bulletins at 6:30pm in some regions). --Tntnnbltn 14:01, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Per wiki guidelines -> "The problem is the images in question are not freely licensed, and Wikipedia policy does not allow nonfree images of living people, since it would be possible for freely licensed images of them to be made. They are considered "replaceable fair use" and are regularly deleted. Wikipedia does not use images by permission (since that permission does not extend to other, non-Wikipedia users), and policy is quite clear that images of living people must be freely licensed in almost all cases. Image:Samarmy.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. [edit] Tables/sections

It was agreed on the WIN Television talk page that these headings were unneccessary and ugly - I'd like to question why they're included here? They don't add to that article and they prevent the proper structure from appearing in the table of contents and they are inconsistent with almost any other article on Wikipedia. There's also a number of web accessibility issues that arise from using tables for layout. timgraham 03:35, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Just further on that - the tables and lists were removed because they made the article harder to read - I'm pretty sure Wikipedia is more than just a list of news presenters, so please bear that in mind when you begin to duplicate information as appears to have happened. timgraham 14:18, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Can the list of fill-in presenters also be intergrated into the paragraphs? As at current they are intrusive and waster alot of space. Also, the Seven Local News section would be far better as a paragraph, rather than similar duplicate lists. Stickeylabel 23:38, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
I have now fixed the Seven Local News section, by intergrating the similar duplicate lists into the main paragraph. I have also added a recent widescreen screenshot, and I have renamed the section Regional Queensland. Stickeylabel 01:49, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

The article says Mike Amor was removed due to "unimpressive ratings". Is there any proof of those statements?

just want it to be know that i have removed the morning show reference/section. why did anyone think that this belonged in the seven news section? would KAK get mentioned on the Nine News page? NO! if any one disagrees please post why here...

I agree & disagree with the both of you, because although The Morning Show is produced by 7's Entertainment section, it still has news updates from Seven News & on Ten's Early news, sometimes they say "Don't forget 9am with David & Kim, etc" & that has news updates, so I think The Morning Show should be on the Seven News page, KAK wasn't mentioned on the Nine News page, because it has no news updates at all. Then you may as well stick in all the various 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm shows because they all have news updates in them. If TT doesn't warrant a mention here then I don't think TMS does. timgraham 10:44, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Timgraham, I mean The Morning Show & 9am has news-updates in the show, not during ad-breaks & the prime-time shows only has ad's in the commericals, not during the show. Jeffmister 22:24, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fillin presenters

For the love of god, please stop adding them - they add nothing to the article and just clutter up the page. If there's a particular presenter that fills in on a regular basis then so be it - Rebbeca Maddern and the 4.30 News is one instance - but Kylie Gillies, for example, was listed as a fill-in for the 4.30 News when today was the first time she'd done so since The Morning Show started.timgraham 11:26, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

She's co-host for The Morning Show, not someone who does it regularly. I'm not against mentioned them at all, it's more the fact that when they are put in it's inevitably a list tacked on to the end, rather than a paragraph (which it should be). [edit] Extra tables

Like the reason for no fill-ins on the page except for Late News, let's please not make the page even longer and more cluttered by adding in tables of jobs and tenures. It's already been mentioned clearly in a paragraph of each section, and doesn't need to be repeated in different format which will only add to the length and clutter of the page.
