[edit] Tutor Groups

Each grade level has eight tutor groups. They are W, R, O, Y, G, B, I and V. They are named after the colours of the rainbow with the exception of W which stands for white, the colour you get when you mix the light spectrum. W, R, O and Y all study Spanish during Key Stage 3, while G, B, I and V all study French.

[edit] In the News

Severn Vale was in the news in January 2007. While an English teacher was on maternity leave, the replacement allegedly slapped a student.[2]

She was suspended and has never returned.

[edit] GSCEs

GCSEs are the last examinations students take at the school. Being a Technology College, students have to take a Design and Technology subject (there is a choice between Food Technology, Resistant Materials, Textiles & Graphic Design, but soon there will be a new Enterprise option). Like other schools, students must take English, Mathematics, Science & a short course in Religious Education. Students must also attend Physical Education lessons, but will only be examined if they choose to study it at GCSE-level. Students may also choose to continue studying the modern language they studied at Key Stage 3 level.
