User talk:Seth Nimbosa

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I started at Wikipedia editing a list, with everything which was made first, or happened first in the history of man

this an interesting suggestion i first came upon on Yahoo! Answers,
then I realized there was already a list of similar goal/rationale, so I merged them,
and later I reordered the somewhat muddled list into coherent subheadings

[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello Seth Nimbosa, welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here and decide to stay.

Here are some tips:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else how to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. Just click on this link and type {{helpme}} followed by your question. An experienced editor will be along shortly to answer your question 24/7. There are also the help pages for self-help and the village pump and IRC Channels where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance. You should also feel free to ask me on my Talk page.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes(~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Please do not add this signature to encyclopedia articles you may edit, however, even if you have created them. Wikipedia articles are owned by the community, not by any one person. Your contribution is credited on articles' history pages. Again, welcome!

[edit] Merging articles

Please make sure that you have consensus before making merges. In the case of Bananadine only three people had commented at the time that you decided to unilaterally merge the articles. Furthermore, you merged them in the opposite direction of the original tag. When a significant fraction of interested editors, in this case a third, make legitimate points and you don't give any response it is impossible for you to claim that you were following consensus. You might ask for broader participation in the discussion from those monitoring Talk:Banana. Being bold is good, but not when it tramples the views of others.—WAvegetarian(talk) 06:18, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I just realized that you had never been properly welcomed, so this may be new to you. I have given you my welcome note —WAvegetarian(talk) 06:20, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Texas_Mexico_Disputed_Border_1836_to_1848.PNG listed for deletion

You have to change the liscening template, I've changed it to {{GFDL}}. Check it out and if that's right, then leave it, if not change it. Cbrown1023 20:18, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh, there is attribution needed that the original unedited image was from http://www.tamu.edu/ccbn/dewitt/co&tex1836.htm#currtex, updated the image license, Thanks

[edit] Talk:Fourth International

I unsuccessfully sugested the same merger last year. if you want to win your proposal, you should make a longer comment at Talk:Fourth International. --Duncan 08:11, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

There was a crisis in the leadership of the 4th International between Trotsky's death and criticism of "Pabloism" but,
as it never has been dissolved, after partial reunification of the majority of members of the International, the new USec/USFI is the de facto and de jure Organizational continuity and rightful successor to ISFI which was established by the 4th International as its core instrument for global organization.
Of course, some groups remain outside of this partial reunification, as they believe that the "errors" that were the cause of their splitting remain unrectified, that's why I further move
that a template be created for a simplified "family tree" of Trotskyist groups stemming from the Fourth International to show the provenance of these groups, their scattering and later realignments and regroupments.
but for the purposes of continuity, in my opinion, the reunified 4th Int'l should be incorporated with the rest of the article with consolidated history of the 4th International

[edit] PKP-1930 and CPP

Hi,

Please again take notice that PKP-1930 and CPP are two separate parties, both notable enough to have articles of their own. Creating a parallel article just creates confusion. If you would like to write an article concerning more general history of communist movements in the Philippine, I suggest you do that in say Communism in the Philippines. Also, perhaps Philippine Communist Party should be moved to another name. I followed the naming scheme at www.broadleft.org/ph.htm, but maybe 'Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas-1930' is a better name. --Soman 08:16, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, pehaps that is the best solution, but I wanted to move Philippine Communist Party think Communist Party of the Philippines (1930) but that was not possible, how do I ask for assistance?
My original Thought was to have Communist Party of the Philippines (1930) and Communist Party of the Philippines (Maoist) to be completely neutral and also displaye the provenance of the offshoot party —-— .:Seth Nimbosa:. (talkcontribs) 08:19, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed Bungie Studios

Hi, I noticed that you had several fair use images in your subpage User:Seth Nimbosa/Templates/proposed Bungie Studios. I made it such that they don't display, but still link (so you don't have to add all of the code when moving to the articlespace) see diff. Per the criterion 9 of the fair use policy, fair use images are not allowed in the userspace so I removed the image itself, a link remains to each. I don't mean to be intrusive, it's just that Wikipedia needs to be very careful with fair use images. Thanks, James086Talk | Email 09:14, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Uhh, yeah but this is just for testing purposes only, pending the actual merge of the two articles, PLEASE —-— .:Seth Nimbosa:. (talkcontribs) 07:26, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Method study ?

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Method study, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.the-saudi.net/kg/tools/methods.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 02:21, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Method study, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g12.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:24, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merging Articles

Please see Wikipedia:Merging_and_moving_pages#Proposing_a_merger WikiDon 01:51, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Maybe I need to be more specific:
  • "After proposing the merger, place your reasons on the talk page. You may be able to invoke a response by contacting some of the major or most-recent contributors via their respective talk-pages. If there is clear agreement with the proposal by consensus or silence, proceed with the merger."

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:PhilTrust banner 408x71.gif and Image:Red ribbon bakeshop.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:PhilTrust banner 408x71.gif and Image:Red ribbon bakeshop.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
