[edit] Fernando Grillo

Thanks for the note - I realised this morning that I should just have dumped the actual links rather than Grillo himself. Thanks for doing it for me (and also - since I assume you are the same person - for the superb Jandek site) StuartDouglas 13:31, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: James Nicol

If James Nicol refuses to stop interfering with the editing of Guy Davenport, I can initiate a Request for Comment on the article; but I can't initiate an RfC on him as a WP user unless a second editor contacts him on his Talk page. Deor 03:03, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm a bit frustrated as well, but I'm still hoping that with some time and patience the problems with the Davenport article will lessen and compromises can be arrived at. It's threatening to turn into an edit war, but hopefully it's not quite there yet?--SethTisue 07:28, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, now James' last edit has me really upset. I'm ready to join in any official action we can take against him.-SethTisue 15:58, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Seth, did you read my comment in the discussion section on Guy Davenport? In what way are my edits "interfering" while Deor's meddling is simply "editing"? Why are you getting emotional about this? I'm happy to discuss it w/ you, Deor, & any others. James Nicol 16:27, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your last message, Seth. Please read my last entry into the discussion. I address the other changes, piece by piece. Although I stick to my guns as much as anyone, look at how many times the article has changed w/out any reversions by yours truly. The comma that offended three people (hardly everyone) is gone. You can hardly call me unwilling to discuss. You & Deor have both been guilty of the reversion. Also, I still await to see whether Deor cares at all about Davenport or merely about all Wikipieces following in his version of lockstep. Remember: What's most important about this article is that it be beautiful, interesting, informative, and in the spirit of Davenport; not that it simply follow some arbitrary rules. James Nicol 17:52, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, I've just joined in here out of interest in particular on the Davenport page, and lord what a mess it is turning into! James Nicol is acting like a four-year-old. I don't see why he doesn't accept the Wikipedia process for what it is, and start his own page on Davenport if he doesn't like what the group effort amounts to. CXII 18:14, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I appreciate it.--SethTisue 18:20, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Davenport article

Hi - I cannot understand why you are deleting the references to CSA saying they are untrue. Are you saying that there is no sexual activity involving underage boys? Tony 18:18, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Tony

[edit] Sightings (band)

Hey - thanks for adding those links to Sightings (band). Those will help establish notability. (Funny coincidence: Angela Sawyer was a friend of mine in college.) Oh, I removed the myspace link: it seems to be the consensus on WP that links to myspace are not a good idea (see WP:EL, links normally to be avoided). Cheers, Doctormatt 06:04, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Photography

Hi Seth. I've been uploading lots of your attribution photos from flickr of jazz folks. You take really nice photos, are you a professional? (Mind meal 14:19, 2 June 2007 (UTC))

[edit] why wouldn't it be capitalized?

hi seth, re your question why wouldn't it be capitalized? the name moers festival is a name of its own and a trademark and its not written in capitals. source: wortmarke (sorry only in german language) unfortunately wiki doesn't allow use of small letters as article names. thats it. best wishes --Michl 06:55, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Requesting your opinion

If you have a moment to spare, your opinion would be appreciated at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Folk-blues musicians. Thank you. (Mind meal 08:32, 22 July 2007 (UTC))

[edit] Bern Porter

Hi there-

As you may or may not know, Bern Porter left a large amount of artwork when he died, much of it in the form of books and other printed material which was then distributed between the Special Collections Libraries of Colby, Bates, and Bowdoin Colleges. I'm currently working at the Bowdoin Special Collections Library, creating a digital archive of the material he left here by manually scanning pages of his books individually. My question is, how did you find out about him? He seems to be a pretty obscure artist/physicist, albeit an interesting one. I'm the one who made the last two edits to the page under the 131.** IP address, btw.

When we get some of the scans I've made online (currently working on a slim volume called Dieresis from 1967), I'll let you know if you're at all interested. They'll be released on Ubuweb. I think they're pretty neat--magazine clippings and the like; lots of women from the waist down, pictures of people on the beach, women in ads, et cetera. Neat.

[edit] in re: Bisexual erasure

While assuming nothing but good faith on the part of the editor who merged the articles, due to the history of as well as lively and vigorous discussion about this article, I have restored the article and substituted instead two merger discussion boxes, one on Bisexual erasure and one on Biphobia.

I look forward to discussing and working on this and other subjects with you in the future. Respectfully CyntWorkStuff (talk) 02:04, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
